Robert Cadiz
I have these seats https://caterhamparts.co.uk/seats/4144-seat-composite-carpet-slr-500-fixed.html in my car. I have lowered floors but I feel that I would like to sit a little lower in the car. Has anyone tried fixing the seat directly to the floor and also changing the angle? Is the only option to go for a foam seat? Thanks,Robert
Drumster
You don't mention whether you have seat runners or not. But I removed these from the car and just used the aluminium box channels to secure the seat to the floor. There is just about enough room for the crotch straps to pass under the seat. The standard position of the Tillett was too upright for me so I have added a significant number of seat spacers under the front mounting points and this has tilted the seat back which also has the effect of lowering me a little further. BenF
Hi Robert,I tried exactly what you proposed a few years back with my R300. I removed spacers from the runners but then the lowest part of the seat - which is in the very middle of the seat - then touched the floor. With the spacers which my car came with, there was probably only about 1mm clearance between the bottom of the seat and the floor. However, a club member then suggested the tilting method (as Chris) and this was a small improvement.Regards, Ben
