Tom_Arundel
Noticed that the pulley was `loose`, checked it out. Bearing was `free` by over 1mm in plastic pulley bore and rapidly machining its way out through the housing. (25,000 mls. and several track days). Went to Henry Ford `you have to buy complete unit..£130...pulley not sold separately`.... £130 for another rubbish pulley or make my own......Aluminium bar end £ 3.00. Bearing £6.50. 3 hours in the shed to turn and mill one from bar. Hard anodising FOC by local company. Electricity 50p Total cost £10.Its nice to know there are still little companies around who know what they are doing and will help you out... thanks to all who did.So.... check your alternator/water pump belt tensioner pulley. John Vine
Well done. Out of interest, is this the same pulley? The FINIS code (1114737) seems to match.JV
Tom_Arundel
Looks similar but site says it`s not the same, I didn`t want to fit a plastic one anyway with Cadwell and Brands Hatch coming up. The bearing runs at over 14,000rpm at full engine speed which is over 80% of the limiting speed of the bearing and it gets quite hot.
