Even better news for those wanting to take part in either or both of our two track day events at Blyton Park, featuring our dedicated 'Novices Day'.  Not only are both events open for booking but as of today - 20th February - we are announcing reduced prices across the board; now only £165 for either event or as low as £140 if you qualify for a discount!

(For those who have already booked, worry not - Sam and her colleagues in the Club Office will be in contact to arrange for appropriate partial-refunds).

Friday 5th May

Our first-ever Club track day at Blyton Park will take place on Friday 5th May, following-on from our ‘Introduction to Track Days’ event at Donington Park last year .  The event has been designed specifically for members who class themselves as novices or newcomers.

The day will be ideal for those who want to get on track at a safe and welcoming venue, at a circuit that combines space and run-off area with enough technical challenge to match growing levels of confidence.

We are limiting numbers to a maximum of 25 drivers, with no more than six cars being allowed on track at any one time.  Club instructors will be available throughout the day at no extra charge.

This will be a fantastic day that will allow you to gain experience, build confidence and set yourself up for more events on track; sign up quickly as we expect spaces to sell fast.

Saturday 6th May

On the following day, Saturday 6th May, we will be running our first full Club track day at Blyton Park - open to members of all experience and ability levels.

For this second event we are limiting numbers to a maximum of 40 drivers, are including our ‘Buddy System’ and will be providing instruction throughout the day.  We will start the day in Sessions, with drivers grouped according to experience and ability, but we will move to Open Pit Lane (OPL) as soon as we judge this to be appropriate.  Plenty of track time for all!

Pre-event meal:

For both events, assuming sufficient interest, we will be arranging a social get-together (most likely a drink and a meal at a local venue) on the night before the track day.

Pricing:

We have revised our pricing for this double-header event so that both days now have a standard entry fee of £165.

For the Friday event, a discount of £25 is available for those who attended last year’s ‘Introduction’ event at Donington Park, reducing the cost of Friday participation down to £140.

On the Saturday, a further discount of £25 is available for any main driver who has booked both the Friday and Saturday events, again reducing the cost of participation on the Saturday down to £140.

Booking:

To book the Novices Day on Friday 5th May, please use this link here.

To book the full Club day on Saturday 6th May, please use this link here.

Dave, myself and the Club instructors are all looking forward to meeting many of you at these events and, hopefully, to them becoming regular fixtures in future years.

Hi BigCol

I've replied in full to the similar post you made in ChitChat, but bottom-line (for others who may be interested) is that signing-on usually starts at 0730 (or thereabouts) with the formal briefing taking place at 0830.  Good excuse to travel the evening before and join the pre-track day social event!

Jon

Not settled on layouts yet.  Will probably run different layouts Friday to Saturday, and we might well investigate the possibilty of having two different configurations on the Saturday (one am, one pm).

I have never used Insurance on Blyton

Blyton has only one issue and that is on the back straight  there is a chicane half way up , if you exit to enthusiastically there is a barrier

- Other than that the worse that can happen is you end up in mud

There is plenty of run off on the infield - you would really have to try hard to do serious damage there

Having said that I have only ever seen one incident and that was a Chav is a old 3 series

The issue at Blyton is the cones - they are rather they have been known to get stuck between wheel and rear arch - there is a simple solution - keep clear !!!

So the only issue is writing cheques your skill cannot keep -

All in my opinion obviously

What is the situation with drivers, is it one driver for the day? My partner will come along and it may be a good place for her to get used to the car. Can we share the day?

So long as your partner is a Club member (and you are allowed to have two individuals within a single membership) then she can be added to the BP booking as an 'Additional Driver', at a cost of £25 for this event.  That said, we don't allow non-Club members to participate as additional drivers.

Worth adding this separate post to the thread to say that we have just restructured the pricing for this double-header event so that both days now have the same, reduced entry fee of £165.

Any member who booked at the previous (higher) prices will receive a partial refund from the Club Office in due course; everyone's a winner!
