Alan Archer
Hi all, I have got to buy all the bits and bobs for my SV, if you were buying a new half hood and a boot bag, would you go for mohair or vinyl?ThanksAlan
Fyldeflier
The mohair looks great but is more difficult to keep clean.vynyl tough and serviceable . Easy to keep clean .j
JNC
If you get your bits from Thundersport they will match your side-screens as they are the supplier to CC. speak to Jemma
Titanium7
Mohair more 'classy' but collects the dust, saying that most sport s cars use mohair.
thompster
I had the same dilemma last year and was worried that the mohair hood next to the vinyl doors would look odd. I ended up buying mohair purely because there was very little price difference. Now I have it it looks great and I'm glad I got what I did. Had vinyl been much cheaper I would have gone with that though.
Ian B
Mohair. More supple when cold and looks better
Rusty Nuts Garage
My Caterham half hood is vinyl and matches the car, very substantial BUT it doesn't easily fold into the 'boot' like the mohair ones. Very easy to keep clean with Auto glym vinyl & rubber care.
Julian H
+ mohair is lighter, folds tighter and looks better- mohair attracts cat fur
JNC
To add to the dirty comment I am always shocked how dirty mine gets in the boot.

Alan Archer
Thanks all, so have you all treated your mohair hoods with a special treatment or just used them as purchased?
