Recommended Posts

i know this subject comes up frequently, so forgive me? I need tyres for my 150SV for road/touring use in both wet and dry. I have 13inch 185 front 205 rear and currently have yoko 048's that are worn out.

Whar's the most suitable tyre currently available and who sells them in Bucks?

Are the R888 R's better in the wet than the AO48's ?

I currently run the same tyres as diggerman in the same size so would be interested to hear if they are better, also are they the same height as my sump would be most upset if the ride height dropped.

I would agree with Markie. I have used R888s for a couple of years now and they are very good, better than the 48's I had previously. I'm replacing them soon with the R888Rs. They are supposedly a step up again, but there's only one way to find out.

Been out today with the new R888Rs on the car. Roads dry with wet patches / standing water. Done approx 150 miles around South Shropshire / Powys.

I know I'm comparing 2 year old, worn R888, with new rubber, but they induced great confidence. Very  very grippy, and handled the wet patches without unsettling the car. Very impressed.
