The ongoing saga of my non starting 7

R300 k series EU2 with roller barrels running an MBE 967.

So after much checking last night it appears that there is no signal from the MBE to the injectors to put fuel in.

Fuel pressure all good; spark good; plugs totally dry; injector resistance checked and measured 13ohms; wiring continuity all checked OK( yellow to MBE & brown to MFRU); 1 injector checked & clicking OK; on cranking both pins on injectors have 10 volts; checked short to earth & positive all OK. And yes there is fuel in it!

So, do MBEs fail?

Does anybody have a wiring diagram or a PIN out diagram for an MBE967?

It has foxed 4 of us - 3  of whom who know what they are on about! That's not including me!

Any thoughts, diagrams, ideas gratefully receieved.

Thanks

I worked on an EU3 R300 on roller barrels a few years back. It ran horrificly and only fired on two cylinders. I tried the usual plugs, leads and coil pack. Turns out an ignition driver had gone down in the MBE. It had to go back to SBD to get sorted.

Phil,  sorry to hear of your woes.  I am sure the experts have tried this but have you bypassed the inertia fuel cut off switch? I think it cuts the fuel pump and you say you have good fuel pressure so probably not, but I always start with the simple things first!

Mark.

Phil

When your car failed to start at Curbs we eventually got it going after changing the TPS. At the time you mentioned that you had only changed it 12 months earlier and whilst they are known to fail it is unusual given the short space of time. Also when they fail they generally start with a misfire at part throttle openings. I wonder of there is a fault with the wiring to the TPS, possibly with the plug to the TPS so it might we worth a check. Do you have the pin outs yet if not I will see if I can find out but it will be during next week.

Good luck

Mark

Mark (Pugwash)

The inertia switch is bridged so it doesn't cut out if a kerb etc is taken a bit aggressively! Thanks.

Mark D

You're correct  re TPS but replaced that again so I think the part is ok but wiring is somewhere to look at further. Thanks

JK

I think I'm ok with what I've got so far. The guys helping me will no doubt advise if we need anything more. Thanks
