AshleyBanks
Help please! I have recently had to put my original engine back in my car after blowing up a 1.8 k series I have reverted back to my 1.6 k series with original ecu etc. I had a run it yesterday for the 1st time it was idling around 3000 revs but this settled down after about a mile after that it ran fine for 30 odd miles. Took it out again today and had very little power and the same problem with the revs think I may of sorted the revs by doing a TPS reset. but I still have a loss of power this power loss seems to slowly disappear the longer I drive it and will run as expected after a while. anyone have an idea what maybe causing the problem? zetec
although not much help,it does sound like the ECU is 'learning' > maybe learning that a problem isn't there?
AshleyBanks
Thanks Craig. One thing I have just thought of is that I may of changed the injectors when I upgraded to the 1.8 I'll do some searching to find which injectors should be used for a 1.6 k series using the plastic plenum and check what is in mine in the morning? Would an oversized injector show symptoms like the above?
Ian R
I doubt that the injectors will casue that issue, they just do as they are told by the ECU map. Try another TPS if you have one? Chris Norman can talk to you about injector colours if needed.
