rj
A friend has asked me for advice with his Elise. The engine makes a strange noise at around 3500-4300RPM. He has also told that there's around 3 degrees slack in the inlet cam. When the engine is static, that is. Could this be a faulty VVC mechanism? Is it dangerous for the engine or is it something to live with? He often (ab)uses the car on track. Any advice appreciated.
ccconn
VVC engines do have a tendency to loosen their cam pulley bolts Check them mine did the same thing
