BBL
A fellow U.S.-based 7-er is rebuilding his 7, and has sourced a replacement wiper control unit, Lucas P/N 6DA, but it has different connections compared to his original one. He would like to know where he might find a replacement that matches his original, if any of you may be able to help with that please. Stationary M25 Traveller
Call Redline ...... I saw your thread. It appears to have been fitted to Mini, Triumph TR7 and DeLorean ..... if that helps. I would be tempted to remove the cover from both and work out the connections, then change the plug wiring to suit ...... edit .... buy a plug that matches the required shape ... and wire it accordingly. Or maybe connect the wires directly inside the new unit .... ignoring the connector pins. Edited by - SM25T on 3 Jan 2014 18:27:
Roger Ford
How about this on ebay?
BBL
Thanks Ian. Using Google images, I located a UK eBay seller that has recently sold both types (bidding now ended), indicating that his original 6DA is P/N 33404, and the almost correct replacement he obtained is P/N 33449A. Thread on California club page has been updated. edit -- Yes Roger, that appears to be the one. Thanks! Roger Ford
I thought that one I posted was a current listing, but sadly it wasn't. Determined not to be beaten I did a bit more research. Rimmer Bros appear to show this type as correct for a TR7, but don't have it in stock. They list a code of AAU7087: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/ProductImages/XLarge/GRID006217.gif Revington TR says this has been superceded by AAU7807A, but going back to Rimmer Bros shows that's the other model with the wrong connectors: Rimmer AAU7807A. Robsport list a 7087, but from the picture it appears to be the 7087A again. I did find a recently-completed but unsold listing on ebay, but can't find it again. ☹️ I think I have to admit defeat at this point.
BBL
Wow! Thanks, Roger. I'll alert Alan, the man who is seeking this part.
