Who runs the Omex 200 ignition only ECU

Just trying to find out if anyone runs a Omex 200 ignition system with there side draft carbs, and are you happy with the system or problems you have had or not had?

A friend wants help ordering and fitting a system to a Chevron B17 with a Cosworth BDG, he is fed up with resetting the timing every time going from 5500 feet to sea level.

It runs the mechanical fuel injection and distributer at the moment and we need to fit something like the Omex 200 in 3D mode with all the senses trigger disc and a TPS some how fitted to the fuel metering cam.

He would still like to keep the distributer which we can with a single coil to keep it looking original

Unless some one has a better suggestion or ideas.

Might be worth looking at the Aldon Amethyst here which seems to be a mappable distributor, so would look fairly original. Not sure exactly how it does load sensing, but it can use tps or vacuum.

Is it on slides or butterflys? If its slides you can get a linear pot, but it will probably cost you more than the ecu.

Thanks Bob, *thumbup* its on slides and the fuel metering is done by a rotating cam so the TPS should fit there if not he has lots of money.

With the Omex we can use the distributer and single coil to run the original leads to the plugs.

The pickup disc will fit on the front of the motor behind the seats out of sight.

Eugene, Thanks but that's way to much technical information for me to think about at this time of the night 😬 😬
