I rewired the whole engine bay, ecu connection etc with connectors as close as possible to o/e and got rid of all the (imho) naff pre-insulated connectors. Now I know why people say that crimping is better than soldering when all my crimps were carp! Paul Deslandes Posted September 4, 2013 Share Posted September 4, 2013 A lot of government contracts specify crimped rather than soldered cable joints as the latter can fatigue and fail with time/vibration/temperature changes.
