GF04RCE
I need a replacement engine control relay, does it matter which one. There is a rectangle one and a slighlty wedge shaped one, does anyone know if they are the same or i have to get a direct replacement...? Thanks David M
shn7
Do you mean the MFRU? If so then I suspect there are EU2 and EU3 versions that are different.
shn7
Alternatively I think last months LF had an article on doing away with it.
Grubbster
Eu2 and Eu3 MFRU's are different - I found out the time-consuming way!
GF04RCE
I have just used a wedge shaped one from a vvc engined 7 in my non VVC engine EU3 and it worked fine, not sure if the VVC engine is EU2 although i think it is .... Looks like my problems were a combined relay box / sticky starter motor
Stationary M25 Traveller
My VVC is EU3 ...... October 2002 build.
revilla
My VVC 160 on which the article was based is EU3 with MEMS3 ECU. I think the lower powered (143 BHP?) VVC was EU2 with a MEMS2J ECU.
Grubbster
I fitted an EU3 one to my EU2 car and it simply powered up the injectors fully and filled the bores with fuel!
GF04RCE
The wedge shaped one came from a143bhp VVC, so i think maybe i will wait for the replacement to come before trying it again... Thanks for the warning Grubbster...
