exhaust help please

Before I try to finesse it with a hammer.

 

K-Series, standard exhaust 4-1 inside the side skin. I've removed silencer and unfastened the collector plate from the block. How do I get the collector unit off? The studs are so long that the collector hits the diagonal chassis member before it clears the studs.

undo the engine mount. jack up the engine a couple of inches - it will tilt over giving you enough room to extract the collector.

When my car went to DVA he trimmed the studs for me for future use! Might be something to consider!
