Cookie Monster
So I only had one bulb lit. Took the cover off & bent the contacts so that they both touched the bulbs & they both lit. Then fiddled some more & now I have a constantly blowing fuse. Two q's: What is the rating of the one that controls the light(& the NS side light & rear light) - is it 5amp? I put in a 7.5 amp(didn't have a 5 amp in stock) & it keeps blowing(x3) Any ideas why it keeps blowing now? All I did was bent the connections to get a contact so the bulbs lit It can't be much but I now have no number plate lights & no NS side light & rear light 😔

paul jacobs
And a supplementary question please. Does the number plate light have to have two bulbs to be legal, or would one be sufficient? Ta 😬 Paul
Mort
No, it doesn't have to have two bulbs, although I believe that the new MOT regs state that all bulbs fitted have to work. With two bulbs the number plate will be better illuminated, and if one blows you'll still have another so chances are that you're unlikely to be stopped. Ian B
I was told my Shogun would have failed with one of the two rear number plate bulbs blown
6speedmanual
Only one bulb required. Remove the extra/not working one to save weight. 😬 Peter
Cookie Monster
I'll have a look one evening this week - inclined to think it's the feed wire shorting. Typical - I should have just left the thing alone 😔
Grubbster
If you disturbed any wiring, make sure you haven't pushed the live feed back onto the earth spade as this blows the fuse, ask me how I know
