Number plate light

So I only had one bulb lit.

Took the cover off & bent the contacts so that they both touched the bulbs & they both lit.

Then fiddled some more & now I have a constantly blowing fuse.

Two q's:

What is the rating of the one that controls the light(& the NS side light & rear light) - is it 5amp? I put in a 7.5 amp(didn't have a 5 amp in stock) & it keeps blowing(x3) *confused*

Any ideas why it keeps blowing now? All I did was bent the connections to get a contact so the bulbs lit *redface* It can't be much but I now have no number plate lights & no NS side light & rear light 😔

No, it doesn't have to have two bulbs, although I believe that the new MOT regs state that all bulbs fitted have to work. With two bulbs the number plate will be better illuminated, and if one blows you'll still have another so chances are that you're unlikely to be stopped.
