RobW
Anyone with a BDR engined 7 know what the accepted wisdom is on which viscosity oil to use ? the handbook says 15/40, have also head 15/50 suggested. Lots of differing opinions out there.

elie boone
What state of tune and what is the intended use ? dry sump or wet sump this defines it all. If you have a relative low rev limit you could use good mineral oil, if you rev higher and do some track days you are better with a synthetic oil. But if you go synthetic go for the 'thickest' viscosity properties
RobW
Thanks for the replies Mainly used for road driving. no track use, and very low mileage engine. I think the other thread has some good stuff. Cheers, Rob
