Keechy
Has anybody fitted the 25mm sticky trim tape to the edge of the panel where the bonnet sits, it is along the nose cone and the bulkhead but don't know the implications of how tight it would make the bonnet clips as it isn't fitted to a new car by Caterham. Thanks in advance.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Yes - stuck it on the underside of the sides of the bonnet. Also put black insulating tape along the top of the side skins where bonnet sits. Works fine. Stops grit getting between the two painted faces and grinding its way in ! Jerry Auton
When I fitted the tape to the top of the side skins, the bonnet was too tight & would buckle slightly during a blat. Shaved it down with a razor blade type paint scraper and was much better.
Keechy
That was my main concern. It very hard to remove, may place it on the side and fit bonnet before I stick it on.
discovolante
not sure whether this has a bearing on the above but there are different thicknesses available. i have had no problems using the 2mm.
