JEM
I am soon going to convert my R300d to Jenvey throttle bodies. Just ,a post to see if anyone has carried out this upgrade, and if a new loom from ecu to engine is required. The loom currently from the ecu seems to be wired into Caterham OE loom. Thanks Jeremy
Drumster
Jeremy, don't do it. Who would want to conver to TBs? See you at Goodwood?
MartinH
Can't advise but watching with interest. Any reason why not going for the standard CC roller barrel TB upgrade? Good luck with the project. Cheers Martin
JEM
Hi Chris, If you can have them so can I. Besides we don't want you having an added advantage . Its hard enough to to try and keep up with class 4 as it is. See you soon. Martin, having had experience with Jenvey and the extra cost to have roller barrels I have opted for the Jenvey. I have also heard that they are more suited to road use. Jeremy

MartinH
Do you get Track Driver magazine? I have been reading Dave Walkers articles on engine tuning and He seems to say that there doesn't seem to be a performance gain in using roller barrels over the butterflies (like Jenveys) so I am wondering if there is much of a cost advantage? What are you doing about The ECU? M
JEM
Yes, same performance but Jenveys cost less. The car will be going to the 2 Steves for a remap. J
MartinH
Sounds good Jeremy. I’d be interested in the details of how it all goes when the time comes. Do you need upgraded injectors as well or will standard do. Assume you are aiming for 200 BHP or so?
Drumster
Jeremy, don't forget now only 189.9.......
JEM
Hi Martin, yes it does sound good but as Chris mentioned if I achieve 200bhp we will have to map back to 190 max as a Class 4 sprint car. Chris it wouldn't make any difference if I had 289.9 bhp. J
MartinH
Ah...I see. Sounds like you need one of those switchable ECUs then - one that can support multiple MAPS? 😬 One for competition and one for road (which of course wouldn't be left on accidentally for a sprint race)
skydragon
Rock on ! ...let the class 4 engine wars begin 😬 😬 You don't need TB's Jeremy, stick with the standard set-up you already have... More than enough power for you
skydragon
Joking aside, the R300 upgrade kit shown here seems to suggest you will need different injectors and injector wiring loom when you upgrade to TB's HTH Chris.
Drumster
Looks like Class 4 'Division 2' will be more competetive this year 😬
TonyR
Don't know if it helps but my 2.0 litre Duratec is on Jenveys and uses blue injectors. TonyR Edited by - TonyR on 23 Jan 2012 16:21:
JEM
Hi Chris, no need to get cheeky just because I beat you in Anglesey. Must of been a fluke. I have the loom for injectors as this is seperate, but was more concerned about air mass sensors etc which are on the plenum which have a large plug. Tony any chance of some pics of tb's and wiring close up. Cheers J
