Miltec
Driving back from Derby this morning, I heard a Clunk and the clutch wouldn't engage to change gear? thought it was the clutch cable that snapped and made the noise. Managed to drive the 30 miles home with out using the clutch. Now having spoken to the two Andy's at McMillan we have concluded that it was the CRB. Question is, is it possible to change without removing the engine? Mine's a VX1600 with the ital live axle. Is there an easy way of doing this? shn7
At the very least you will need to split engine from bellhousing. On my K series we recently managed to disconnect everything including engine mounts with the engine supported by a crane, split engine from bellhousing and there just enough room to get a hand in to change the CRB with the engine moved forwards as far as it would go. Don't forget to support the front of the bellhousing

James_Russell
Sounds like you've already made your mind up- but I'll just confirm that the engine needs to come out. Not hard on our cars though!
