Stu_I
First post in tech talk and it might be an easier newbie question. Just picked up the car this morning and was told to insert ignition, turn to power on and press blank button on immobiliser to de-immobilise the car. The car has de-immobilised all morning when i insert the key, press blank button on the fob. However, just went to take someone out for a drive, and im now getting a solid red light and a constant clicking before it ends. Tried pressing the button and i hear a click from the immobiliser but clicking continues. Now i left it for a bit, waited and re-tried and it it de-immobilsed no problems. Now i intrigued of why its doing it, and need to know why! Also, it meant i was sat there for 5mins waiting so ideally dont want it to repeat! Can anyone help? Stationary M25 Traveller
On our 2002 k-series, you must disarm the immobiliser before turning the ignition on.
Ray Pearce
If it is the standard rover immobiliser.... I normally press the blank button before turning on the ignition. If you get the solid light and clicking (this would be flashing lights and sounding horn on a "normal" car) press the lock button and then press the unlock.
