virden
Referrring to my previous mail re turning inside out slightly damaged screen to pass MOT. The screen came out like a dream. Only problem was that I had to cut the cables to the screen heating element. Question: do I have to have a heated screen to pass the MOT? I recall something about having to have some from of demisting device on windscreens? Thanks
Area Representative Nick Chan Posted October 14, 2010 Area Representative Share Posted October 14, 2010 Not required for an MOT. I think it was just for the sva test. Why don't you put new connectors on the wires anyway? ----- Back in a BEC! - but done alright in Class 1...
tbird
even if you did need a de misting device, you could take it in without the hood, that should de-mist nicely 😬 Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black
OAP
Faced with the same issue I just took the screen off and fitted the aero screen. It passed no problem
virden
Aeroscreens not a good idea up here, too many herds of dairy cows have crossed the road. Had ago at swopping over the glass last night. It all went like a dream, undid the small screw at the base on each side, gently spread the sides of the frame by tapping witha hammer, pulled frame off, turned it through 180 degress and reversed the process. Magic, and it saved me spendig the £400 or so CC wanted for a new screen kit. 1700 Super Sprint, Team Lotus and clams
