Great change up light

For those of you with an Emerald or using the std changeup facility.....found this great dash indicator...

 

Super bright Red LED, which is clear when not on. Drill 10mm hole just above center of gap between Speedo and Rev counter (ie good sight line). LED is clear when not in use then is super bright red when change up needed.

 

Parts from Maplin are:

LED: UK24B

Holder: UK16S

Plus a 330 ohm Resistor (placed in series with LED)

Cost less that £1.50 (Emerald is a little more )

 

Take 12V switched supply from back of washer button to long leg of LED....and connect to other leg (with Resistor) to Pin 19 of ECU/Emerald plug.......

Did exactly the same. I wondered if it would be bright enough as the 'normal' change up lights have several LEDs which flash. No problem though with the 10mm high brightness mounted between the dials. Recommended for anyone with Emerald ECU.

It will also work on a Megajolt for all you x-flow owners out there. The MJ has programmable outputs, which switch to ground and can be triggered off RPM points. If any one is interested I may knock up a prototype system.

I have the same for an oil pressure warning light, except it is located near the oil pressure gauge. You can't fail to miss it...

 

Only dead fish go with the flow....!
