Trev G
Can anyone please tell me the best way to fit the above. My old six speed box had threaded holes to which the bolts would go through the bellhousing and into the g/box.On the new Quaife the holes are not threaded and are quite a bit smaller and the holes in the bellhousing aren't threaded either.I spoke to Quaife this morning who said the bellhousings normally have a thread in them and the bolts go through the gearbox 1st.Any advice appreciated. Cheers . Trev
k80rum
Hi Trev, if you give Raceline a ring on 01483-811978, they should be able to advise and I'm pretty sure can supply a threaded, flanged sleeve arrangement that slides into the gearbox holes and allows you to bolt the bellhousing to it as normal. Failing all else, I've used a nut/bolt/washer combination in the past to get around the problem when fitting one of the new Quaifes. The bellhousing and box align well, and the nut/bolt combination with washers to spread the load give a good clamping force.
