u01rsb
I've had a leak for a couple of years for my AP master brake cylinder so I've decided I'd better repair it. Where can you get a repair kit from? On the Caterham website they are £30. On the demon tweeks website they are around £10. Are they the same thing? I always try and buy from Caterham but a £20 difference is robbery if it is the same thing. Thanks, Rob
john g
Try Redline 01883346515
Rob Walker
The Caterham AP uprated master cylinder is a unique size specific to Caterham and I doubt that you will get the same size seals from anywhere else. Please post and let me know if you do as I would like to purchase a set of spare seals.

u01rsb
Redline came up trumps - £13.00 - bargain. I'll find out if it fits at the weekend
TomB
Now you have to decifer the instructions and replace the seals the right way! I struggled and eventually spoke with a nice man at AP who offered to check my cylinder after I had done it. I had put some seals in the wrong way, and he corrected my work - all for free! I try and find his contact details if you wish.
u01rsb
Thanks Tom, now I know it might be a bit tricky I'll be very careful to lay everything outin order and direction as I remove it. I'll let you know if I need a contact.............
u01rsb
Ok, I've stripped half of it down but I appear to have half of the barrel still left in the cylinder. Any idea how I get it out? Thanks, Rob
TomB
Have you taken the reservoirs off? ISTR a little stud in the recess of the reservoir mount that you could press and slide the inner assesmbly out. Its a couple of years ago, so Im not 100% certain, but it rings a bell. u01rsb
Yep, I took the reservoir off and I can see the stud you refer to. However I don't know how you remove the stud, is it screw out? Don't want to damage something with my big hammer engineering approach Thanks, Rob
Brian Soper
This reminds me of when I replace my old brake hoses for stainless ones and was given all the parts to make my own up, The man said ' you cannnot go wrong and nobody has ever come back to complain !!!'
