Fitting a PRRT: return pipe from the heater

Hello

I have been looking at Darren's very explicit web site here about fitting a PRRT.

I can see three possibility on where to connect the return pipe from the heater:

1) between the radiator and PRRT

2) Between the block and PRRT

3) in the by pass circuit

Where is the correct place ? I believe it's number 2

Thank you for your help

Jack

Hi Jack, mine returns back to the thermostat housing; so I believe that 2 is correct.

This connection wasn't disturbed when the PRRT was fitted, it was left connected but the thermostat housing was opened to remove the [failed] thermostat and replace with the restricting washer.

I hope that helps *smile*

I feed my heater return back into the submarine pipe which is in the T'd off hot feed prior to entering the stat, this way ALL the water returning to the engine has gone via the stat and therefore the retun temp is as stable and isolated from fluctuations as possible.

The OE heater return on the housing is blanked off.
