Mavic82 Posted May 8, 2008 Share Posted May 8, 2008 Could someone with a VX engine provide some insight? The crank sensor on the left of the engine down low has always leaked oil on my car. I have now just built a new engine and fitted the sensor but still it leaks. I am guessing it should have some sort of seal or gasket but currently have neither. Anyone tell me what I am missing? Mavic82 Posted May 8, 2008 Author Share Posted May 8, 2008 Roger, Thanks I will go to the local dealer tomorrow and check the 'computer' Engine all done and in the car, busy putting some run in miles on before the rolling road Tuesday at Aldon. Fingers crossed it holds together! Induction noise has greatly increased ☹️ so may need to follow your style of inlet for track days. F355GTS Posted May 9, 2008 Share Posted May 9, 2008 Guy the positioning of the sensor is quite specific, if you fit an o ring that s too thick the car will not start as the sensor cannot read the crank wheel. I ordered on from Caterham which caused this problem, in the end I just used some RTV sealant to resolve the problem Mark Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
