Battery warning light during acceleration and braking only

Chaps,

"My other car is" a 1.3 Ford Ka.

Under full acceleration in 1st or whilst standing hard on the brakes the battery warning light comes on temporarily.

I topped up the cells in the battery thinking that the electrolyte was not fully covering the plates.

This has not fixed the problem.

Do any of you know what might be causing this?

Cheers

Simon

Simon.

Check the connections on the alternator...doesn;t sound like belt slippage to be honest, but could be wrong...especially as it's only on hard acceleration of braking in first only you say? Hmm...If there is a loose connection I'd assume the engine is koving more than you want under these conditions and check the engine mountings to ensure the engine isn't moving too far and stretching cables!

Other than that....if it's not any of the above.....and the battery is still showing charge using a multimeter...remove the bulb from the warning light! that'll solve it and prevent you from spending the next 12 months looking for a short somewhere! 😬

and no...I'm not gonna come up to do it for you!!! *tongue* *tongue*

give me a bell sometime soon!!

Dannyboy *tongue*
