neil.cavanagh
I have the latest Emerald ECU, and LC-1 lamba sensor and would like to have a go with the adaptive mapping settings it offers. What target AFR values shoudl I have set up in the injection mapping tables? I think the example map the ecu came with has: TPS% revs 3000 8000 3 14.7 13.8 94 13.0 12.5 with the setting in between seeming to change gradually... Is this reasonable? Also what values in the 'closed loop settings' should i have?? thanks! Neil
k80rum
I'd be interested to hear this too Neil. I think Peter C makes some interesting references in his 35mpg post. For information, I'm starting to upload .MAP files to the maps library as they become available.. Dobuy
Just off on a trip, so I will have to keep this short. No expert on the adaptive settings, but you are welcome to download one of my maps from here I gleaned my configuration information from advice by others, seems to work very well, car is running great. Any comments, criticisms or improvements would be gratefully received. Darren, you are welcome to host it if you like, most details are on the first page of the map. k80rum
Many thanks Neil (Dobuy), most kind. I'll add it to the collection Your site has been very useful recently by the way, for setting up the Emerald with the Innovate sensor Darren E Website and Emerald maps library Superlight R #
mjdm
The other nice trick with the K3 Emerald is the ability to switch between 3 different maps. When I finally get my Seven imported over here to New Zealand I want to have a go with setting up maps with different AFRs so that I have one map for the drive across the Desert road and a more suitable one for attacking the Rimutaka Hill road ! Until then its a case of doing it the Kiwi way in a JDM twin-scroll turbo, 4WD Legacy ! Mike
Dobuy
No worries Darren, would be interested to hear of your experiences. What is the latest version of the K3 software? I wish Karl would host it on the Emerald site, along with an updated user guide.
k80rum
The software version I have is v1 rev0.81. I'll have to check the firmware revision on the ECU tomorrow, but it's only a couple of months old. I'll keep my site updated, for the time being, I've loaded my original .FIG into one of the map slots and have a fairly standard Exige .MAP from Emerald imported into the second. It's the Exige map I'm tinkering with now as it is preconfigured with wideband settings. Once i've refilled the car with coolant, I'll try both maps and see how I go (probably this weekend). The first hurdle is probably going to getting a decent startup and idle (i've just removed my old IACV) I notice the Exige map doesn't use ignition advance for idle stabilisation and has a target idle around 1280rpm which seems a bit high. When I have something workable, I'll be interested to take a closer look at both the AFR values and the fuelling plot (the latter with regard to smoothing it if necessary, after reading Peter C's post). I agree, it'd be handy if there was an updated support area on Emerald's site. I've got a couple of versions of the Emerald software and manuals which I'd be happy to host if Emerald are okay with me doing so. Let me know if you'd like the latest user guide PDF, as I've got it in an email somewhere.
