Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted October 24, 2007 Leadership Team Share Posted October 24, 2007 Tim, I've just linished a spare block I have as per Dave's instructions - I used a thick ally plate as my "sanding block". Beware that it takes quite some time - I recon all in there's around a couple of hours' work needed. My block is completely stripped so not the same issues with aluminium dust, but I filled all the holes with paper just in case. If you still have the engine in the car I think I'd seal up as much of the inside as possible with paper and gaffers tape, and vac it out afterwards before removing anything - I was amazed at just how much aluminium dust was created I've taken mine from a variation of 0 to 3.5 thou, to 4 to 4.5 thou so quite optimistic about the results.
