Prescott questions

To those in the know....

I've never been here before and and I think I have now completed the somewhat convoluted entry procedure for the event however I still have a few queries (dumb questions) left.

1. Can I arrive on Friday and stay overnight? And at what time? There is no mention of circuit opening hours in the final instructions.

2. Do I have to organise and pay to camp in my van? It says camping can be booked and paid on the website but I can't find it anywhere.

3. Once in the paddock, do I leave my trailer hitched or do I have to park it separately like at Goodwood?

4. Would I use the main entrance on Friday evening, or will the competitors entrance be open??

Thanks

Andy

Yes, its normal for folks to arrive on Friday for a Saturday meeting and camp overnight.

'can't help about paying for parking.

In the paddock, during a meeting, you're only allowed the competition car. The tow car and trailer needs to be parked in the orchard (on the opposite side of the track to the paddock). We normally bring the tow car and trailer into the paddock, unload all we're likely to need into the paddock space, then take the tow car and trailer across to the orchard (hoping to park up reasonably close to the foot bridge to get back to the paddock).

Yes, before and after the meeting the main entrance is used to access the paddock, and leaving to get to the orchard via the main entrance again. However, to get the competition car back to the trailer before the end of the meeting, you normally need to drive out of the side entrance of the paddock and on the public road to get to the main entrance to get to the orchard.

I've never stayed right to the end of a meeting, but I understand it gets VERY congested with folks trying to get trailers in and out of the paddock!!

We normally pack as much of the heavier stuff into the seven, and make a couple of trips across the foot bridge with light and bulky stuff like suits, boots, and helmets etc. (and, running, slicks, another trip with a sack truck with another set of wheels and tyres......)

I normally aim to arrive at no later than seven on the Saturday morning to set up ('not had a problem getting into the paddock before seven). By the time we're trying to get out of the paddock and across to the orchard to leave the trailer, the paddock to orchard route is already getting busy!).

Hi Guys,

Hope your all keeping Cool. I have just recieved the official instructions found a cooling room and having a read.

In red it says you must have completed the online sign on in order for your name to appear on the list.

How do I check if I have signed on? I have been on the Bugatti site, I  can see my name on the list and I can see I have been allocated a place in the paddock as indicated in the paper instructions, however  if I go to sign on its says there are no meetings to Sign on .

Any help gratefully recieved.

Kind regards

Longy

So do competitors need to pay for sleeping in our camper vans?

It says price per pitch but I don't need an extra pitch because my van and trailer will be there all night, whether I'm sleeping in it or not.
