Intercooler (160 build)

I added the intercooler today. No big issues but it is an easier job if you get some of the hoses in place first (there is not a lot of space).

That is all the progress I can make for the time being. I'll start work again once I get the back axle casing from Caterham. (I understand they are on their way from Japan).

If there is a 160 owner reading this I would be grateful to see a photo of the engine bay with good resolution. Before starting the engine, further down the line, I would like to double check my connections.

The build manual photo is OK, but I can't quite see the fine detail.

You could ask the guys at CC South to take a few pics for you. They've got the cutaway 160 in their reception, and the Top Gear one on the showroom floor. Really helpful guys too.

If I was a bit nearer, I'd go and do it - I'd planned to take a bunch of photos of their build for exactly the same reason.

Thanks both - especially your photos Mike. What would also quite like to see is the vacuum hoses just under the nose cone. If you have a photo of that I'd be happy.

Not long before you pick up spanners then....

Hi All, I have 177 photos that I have taken of the 160, both the finished and the cut away (its a 165 so steering on the wrong side!) cars in CC south and another car I saw at Brooklands recently.  In total they are about 0.5GB so not reallt emailable but I'd be happy to send you a memory card with them all on if you would like, if you send me an message via Blatchat with your details then I can mail you the memory card

Good 'engine room' shots, they will be very helpful.

Now if only I had a Gearbox Extension and Linkage Assembly I could be fitting the engine.........!
