  2. I am unfortunately selling my Caterham 160 it has been fantastic but due to a change of circumstances and not really enough time to use it so I have put it up on autotrader today if anyones interested please take a look. If you would like to see more photos of it all of the details are on my blog Caterham160.blogspot Mike
  3. Hampster This must really fustrating for you, I can confirm changing the ignition barrel is a straight forward job and a few of us have installation details on our blogs, only 3 cables to connect and a couple of bolts (My car came without the ignition barrel) Take care when removing the black cover to back of the barrel i managed to crack mine getting it off initially. Neds idea of checking error codes on the ecu seems like a good thing to check if possible. I'm not sure if it's the ignition though, my money's on it being ecu related. When the engine cuts out is it easy to start again? Mike
  4. Hi there Ben, I'm so pleased that you found the blog usefull during you build and I'll look forward to meeting up with the rest of the gang when the weather improves. Mike (nr wellsbourne so not far from you)
  5. Hi there hampster, I had a few problems during the build of my 160 and just couldn't get it started which really annoyed me but the car was picked up for its post build check and a new ECU was fitted and ever since i've not had any problems at all. I wonder if they have had a faulty batch? Welcome to the club and I hope that your 160 is fixed soon. Mike
  6. Hi there james, 5 becomes 6! Welcome to the 160 gang. We havent arranged another meet yet but I look forward to meeting when we do. What spec have you gone for? Mike

  11. Thankyou Martin for the advise I'm booked in to go up to caterham midlands next thursday to get some parts changed so i'll double check service (stamps) etc with them when I see them. Mike
  12. MartinB2 Thanks for the tip I have just downloaded and printed off the manual, Why oh why didnt caterham tell me where it was? Looking at it surely it should have delivered stamped up after the post build check? Looks like you had a great trip in france Mike
  13. I've just changed the oil and filter on the 160 and whilst shopping around morrisons I encountered a few strange looks,... http://caterham160.blogspot.com
  14. PeterM Crikey you've got a handbook! lucky man, I having been emailing caterham midlands on this and at the moment awaiting a reply as all I have basically are 2 sets of keys and a build manual, no handbook or service book(I'm wondering if any one gets these). which leaves me not knowing what to service or when. What I have been doing is contacting caterham midlands and asking them for the part numbers. I must say they have been very helpfull with all my questions so far. I'll be changing the oil and filter at the weekend and I'm hopeing that it will resolve the low oil pressure reading. Mike
