  1. hmmm... the more reason to give it another try this morning then 😬 Not quite convinced about using a slide hammer as we were using a heavy duty puller which did'nt do the trick. Good to know it is a generally difficult task though, with other cars it doesn't seem to be such a pain! Agree about the use of the loctite and the fact reconditioned hubs were used... Will need to go to the local tool shop and have a look at more tools then! Antonella my photos here here
  2. Ok, attempting to remove rear hub from live axle car this morning to replace studs with longer and stronger ones, proved complicated due to fact that hub appears to be seized. Large puller used, and lots of effort from two people plus leverage and the thing will not budge. Result, one slightly bent hub which will be eventually replaced with alu item. hub/rear brake assembly Hub seems to have been loctited in by Caterham and no amount of effort seems to be able to shift it. We also tried undoing shaft from backplate but it seems splines are deeply embedded. Will try some more vigorous hammering tomorrow to free it but a bit concerned as amount of force we have been using is large. I see there has been some mention of use of a slide hammer to assist hub removal but the puller we used seemed a lot more appropriate, but wasn't good enough. We dont have facility to apply direct heat to hub and space within garage is quite small so not possible to go under car and hammer from inside out. Any suggestions? Antonella my photos here here

  6. the current atmosphere in bc is more likely to drive people away rather than make them welcome and allow them to express themselves. We are all so very different with ownership or interest in a little car being the only thing in common. The efforts of nice people are often drowned by elements of intolerance, aggression and sometimes people just being plain rude or selfish. ☹️ Antonella my photos here here

Very nice pics Myles. Are you interested in joining our Flickr group as per Chitchat thread 🤔 Antonella my photos here here
  8. That said Mark you have given a clear and honest reply on what has been done and the reason for doing so... with that I am very satisfied I have no doubts you have done the best but with no explanation what do you expect people to think? 🤔 Asking questions should not be taken as an affront ☹️ Antonella my photos here here
  9. Secondly there is no need to take it on Paul... are you afraid of the can of worms I opened and of discussing this with a woman? Paul has proven the point objectively with maps and locations rather than my subjective feelings as a competitor. as much as I have led the minority we still have the right to express an opinion and not feel threatened by people who are louder and have no more authority than anybody else. People cannot post an honest and frank opinion without feeling that they might be lambasted. I've done it before and I'm not afraid. Never been afraid to ask uncomfortable questions inorder to make sure everything has been done. If you think asking questions is confrontational, then yes, here I am, confrontational no 1 and proud. 11. TM, I sort of like your reasoning but what you are saying needs to be approved by the management. If not, it is in effect creating a splinter group (which I am against) which the main group will be seeing as a competitor. Keep in mind we cannot assume competitors living in the West are not going to be keen on travelling, particularly if, as one person is saying, they are keen to try out new venues. I am not sure if there is any other club that splits its championship into area and not sure there is the need to do it anyway. All I asked for was a redistribution of event venues. Let's not make this bigger than it already is... Antonella my photos here here
  12. What TM, Are you suggesting we set up splinter groups? 😳 ☹️ What would happen to the numbers of current contenders then? I (or others who live away from the centre of action at the moment) don't need to be organising anything. The club can make up a long term plan for including all the rest of us if they accept we have the right to compete without needing bigger pockets to cope with all the travelling and extra expenses. This does'nt seem to be achievable short term and I understand and accept that. However if it takes too long then I will also look at long term solutions and that might mean ditching my car into something competitive 😳 and I wont need to be bothering about the current class system. 😳 I know I'm not important and nobody cares if I compete or not but I wonder if there are others in the same predicament. I wonder if the people that attend for trackdays locally do so because they cant get into competition... Myles... 😳 ... I used myself as an example, well knowing that all hell will be let loose when you start asking questions.... I know that you guys are in a lot worse situation and hopes this serves to remind people that there are others who need to be considered. Antonella my photos here here
  13. Hi Barry! Did the club consider that Hethel might have been a prob because it was booked for a Sunday? With it being a family weekend and needing to go back to home to get to work on a Monday it was probably the wrong choice of day... I would give Hethel a second chance for that reason. Can I suggest using the webby as a forum poll for these things? Can I suggest a poll area? > Antonella my photos here here Edited by - se7enmad on 9 Aug 2008 12:14:28
  14. Well done PP! Maybe I should change my status to 'always on the naughty chair' and add some comments about area meets too... Why are'nt members' thoughts and preferences taken into consideration whatever is organised? Why don't people do a little thinking, call it post mortem, after every event that happens and see how they can improve. I certainly know the difference this makes to a club, having done this in the past and been on the receiving line on to hear commentsand positive feedback, and certainly a lot of heavy criticism which one has to take constructively if one is leading something. I don't like the don't fix it if it aint broken attitude. I like the 'keep improving what is good' attitude... however as you get people out of their comfort zone and make them think a little you are perceived as a threat of some sort ☹️ Rant over... and have a good day everyone Antonella my photos here here
