  1. For sale is my daughter’s 1990 Peugeot 205 XE. Fitted with the later TU engine and MA gearbox. We bought it earlier this year for a bit of fun as her 17th birthday approached. She couldn’t be persuaded that a more modern small Citroen/Fiat/VW/Seat like all her friends were driving was the more sensible way to go (and I loved her all the more for it)! Ultimately though sensible has won the day and a 1997 Fiat Panda has been procured. It’s a shame as both my wife and I love driving the Pug! It’s been a real trip back to our teenage years. Please be under no illusion this is a very basic car: 954cc engine 4 speed manual gearbox Manual Windows Non power assisted steering Manual choke (remember those?) But it starts first time, every time and is great fun to drive. The small engine takes a while to get up to the national speed limit but that’s not the point. It’s getting there that’s half the fun and the skinny tyres make it fun on the road. Access to the engine bay is good and everything is very simple and straight forward to work on. There are a few things that will need a little attention. The rear screen heater and cigarette lighter don’t work (they weren’t called power sockets in those days). The colour is best described as chewing gum white and there is the odd lump of filler here and there. Also one of the hupcaps went MIA recently! The main issue is that my daughter had a low speed bump into an immovable object. This resulted in damage to the bumper and number plate, both fixed by me. But it also exposed a small hole in the front valance. There’s no further damage but this would need attention before it’s next MOT which will be due at the end of July 2019. I’ve highlighted the area in one of the pictures and tried to take a couple of close up shots of it. Ultimately I think this would make a great parent/child project to work on. Parts are still cheap, readily available and the car easy to work on together. If I had the luxury of a bigger garage I would keep it and work on it myself. But to do that would mean the 7 would have to go and that’s a step too far! £695 ono to include a Haynes Manual. 2. BTTT - price reduced, can bring along to this weeks Mid Staffs meeting.
  3. Freshly powdercoated in matt black last year so all are unmarked and straight. Shod with Toyo 888R 185/60 all are at least 2-3mm above the wear bars. Can be collected from Staffordshire or free delivery within 50 mile radius of where I live (close to Curborough). £300 ono Thanks for looking.
  4. Around 10.15am heading into the town, light blue reg ending MKS (I think). You were part of a line of other sports cars of various marques, I was in the Bugatti blue one with a number of other Mid Staffs members. We'd just had a great early morning blat around the Peak District followed by a gut busting breakfast at The Yonderman Cafe.
  5. Hi Jamie, having just done it I can tell you posting pictures is very easy. Do you see what looks like a horizontal line with an arrow pointing up (it should be next to the emoji symbol). Click on that and you should be able to upload pictures. Good luck with the sale. Stu
  6. Have copied this over from ebay. Might be of interest as a first car for a family member. Have it advertised at £2300 but happy to do a deal for a fellow Blatchatter! Available to view near Burton on Trent. This is my wife’s Fiat 500 1.2 Diesel Multijet. We bought it just under 6 years ago from the previous owner (it was owned by mother then daughter from the same family). It has the following features: Panoramic Glass Roof Climate Control with a/c Power Steering with City function AM/FM Radio with CD player Daytime running lights Remote Central Locking with second spare key 15” Alloy Wheels with locking wheel nuts Blue & Me phone connectivity (requires separate adaptor) Mileage currently stands at just under 63,000 but will rise as the car is in daily use MOT until January 2019 New battery (March 2019) £20.00 per year road fund licence 60-70mpg Tow Bar (used to carry a bike rack) Good points: All 4 tyres have plenty of thread left Bodywork is generally good for a car of this age with no visible signs of corrosion Full folder with receipts for all services and any work carried out but we’ve misplaced the service book Bad Point: Alloy wheels are in need of some attention as the original laquer is peeling off (as seen in the pictures). If we were keeping the car I would have the wheels refurbished or look for another set. advertised for
  7. Not a firm of solicitors but 3 Mid Staffs members blating around the Peak District this morning. Spotted you coming up the hill on the B5056 from Bakewell somewhere near Stanton in Peak. Didn't see you until last minute and I was in the TinTop. Seems like I missed out on a great blat and breakfast this morning. We were heading for a hike around Chatsworth.
  8. Hi Paul, Are you in a rush? I've got an LSD to fit which means I'll have an open one available. But with summer hols fast approaching it might be a few weeks away. Let me know. Stu
  9. My wife drives a 2007 Fiat 500 with a 1.2 diesel engine. In the last few months she has been experiencing what I can only describe as K Series click. The car starts first time from cold no problem but once the it has warmed up and running hot the problems start. If the car is stopped and left for a few minutes it then won’t restart. The engine doesn’t turn over it just clicks when you turn the key. Once the car has cooled or if you attach jump leads it fires up again. Having done a little search on the internet it seems that this might be a common fault on Fiat Multijet Diesel engines. Crank sensor seems to be a culprit and a relatively cheap and easy fix. As this engine is used in a lot of Fiat Group vehicles I thought I’d ask if anyone else has experienced the same issue?

    A brace of ReHab?

Not sure if that’s the collective noun but counted 9 cars in total at Eurotunnel Folkestone this morning. Had a quick chat after introducing myself as a fellow owner. Unfortunately I was in the tin top as travelling for work. Enjoy CLM! stu
  11. Orange with black stripes heading towards Llandindrod Wells, around 9.30am on Sunday 24th June. Two of us were heading home after spending the weekend in the area (blue and yellow).
  12. Dark Grey with Red Stripes (I think), Saturday 23rd June. Spotted by myself and another 4-5 Caterham's as we blatted around Wales over the weekend.
  13. Hi Andy, I fitted one a few years ago using a P'Clip fixed around the centre of the FIA bar, although I only had a single diagonal. Nice and bright and in the perfect position, unfortunately I don't have any pictures. The other option, which i have also done on another car, is an LED strip light from Car Builder Solutions. I trimmed off the plastic lugs with a Stanley knife and you can glue, cable tie or velcro it to the underside of the top of the roll bar. Again it's a good position and can still be seen from under a half hood. Would recommend buying the wiring loom from Caterham (if they have stock) as it makes it a very easy job. Good luck. Stu Edited to add picture of the second option http://www.dropbox.com/s/z0b0hjyowas2mue/007%20%282%29.JPG?dl=0 and I found couple of option 1 http://photos.app.goo.gl/mwQynJy8pCJZdLqB3 http://photos.app.goo.gl/X9T8jo8PZ5g1rWlm1

  18. A bit of a long shot but have just won an ebay auction from a Thule 3 bike rack. Only issue is that it's collection only from the wilds of Kent. Thought I'd ask if anyone can help me, if not I'll drive down on the 10th to collect it. It's the sort of thing that would fit in a large hatchback or estate car. If you think you can help I will get the full dimensions. Any help would be appreciated even if it's only getting it closer to the M25. Thanks in advance. Stu
  19. As subject title I'm selling an almost new Sparkrite carrier to carry 4 bikes. Link to full spec on Amazon below: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ZJ0A0JW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It was bought at the beginning of July with the intention of my wife carrying hers and my two daughters bikes (plus mine occasionally)attached to her car. Unfortunately it's a little heavy for her to manage on her own at just over 17kgs and I'm not always around to assist so we are going back to the drawing board! It has only been used twice but carried 3 bikes easily and securely with plenty of room for a 4th one. Already assembled and ready to go, all you need is a number plate which can be bought for a tenner off eBay. £200.00 ono to include free delivery within a 50 mile radius of Birmingham. Alternatively I'm sure we could arrange to meet halfway if that suits. 20. Has anybody got 2 of these lying around (possibly after a carbon upgrade)? With or without indicators fitted. I had to modify my old ones to fit the lowered headlamp brackets but now want to switch back. http://caterhamparts.co.uk/indicators/2711-indicator-mounting-cone.html Thanks for looking.
