  1. I recently changed my exhaust from the standard system with the cat to a 4-1 without a cat and it has completely transformed the car!! Before when I reved the car up the revs would hover on the way down almost as if the throttle was sticking but it wasn't, and all the power would be above 5k. Now it revs straight up and back down and it has really smoothed out the power and pulls alot stronger the whole way up the rev range! I would defiantly recommend it!
  2. Quoting Stationary M25 Traveller: I have a spare suede Momo 27/C open top wheel. Check with your insurance company .... some are ok, some not. Thanks for the offer but I'm not too keen on the open top wheels!
  3. I am after a steering wheel for a quick release boss I have just bought! Pref suede but will consider leather! What have you got? Thanks
  4. Ok, sounds like It would be worth changing the thermostat and the temp sensor! What temperature thermostat is best? I do a few track days a year and do I need one with or without a seal ring?
  5. Hi, do you know the wheel base of an SV? A friend has a woodford single axel trailer, the bed is 11ft long by 6ft 1 wide. It has been used twice so is near enough brand new! If you blatmail me I can send across some pictures! Thanks
  6. Thanks for the replies! Does anyone know the part number of the temp sensor? I need to wire wire up a fan over ride as well I think!
  7. After a British racing green cycle wing! Thanks Scott
  8. I recently swapped my normal radiator that was leaking for an Ali one, was a but of a bastard to bleed but got there in the end! Now when I just drive it normally the temperature is at about 90-95 but when I give it some stick the temperature drops to 80! I know there is obviously more air flow when going faster but does it really cool it by 15 degree's? Thanks Scott
  9. Quoting MereCat: Scott, did you get sorted on the Exhaust? rgds Paul I did thanks!
  10. Looking at getting another bike to commute on, pref a little 125 or something but would consider anything! Cheaper the better as with everything! Thanks Scott
  11. Buying a 4 branch manifold that exits as 4 going out the side skin and mine is standard and just has the single hole! Is there some kind of template or measurements I can follow or is it just buy it and cut? Haha! Thanks Scott
  12. Thanks for the advise! Tbh I think if I was going to go above te 150-160 mark I would look for someone swapping out an R400 for a duratec or something and try and buy the whole package! Like engine, exhaust, dry sump and that! Currently blat mailing someone about a 4-1 now so hopefully that works out!
  13. Thanks for the offer but I am after one that goes into one after it had exited the side skin! Like an upgraded one! Thanks Scott
  14. Quoting Fishy Dave: Half hood and bailing out equipment judging by the forecast We will aim to be there to lend a hand on the Saturday mate Don't have a half hood! That is on the 'to get' list haha! I saw the forecast today but never belive what those b@stards at met office say! I'm sure it is just a bloke sat at a computer that licks his finger and sticks it out the window then says it is going to rain!! Haha! Need pratice in all weathers so it is all good! Hopefully see you there!
  15. Got my first trackday at keevil on saturday, cant wait! Anything i should be checking in perticular this week before saturday? Just fitted an appolo tank this week so i should be sorted on the oil front! Thanks
  16. After a 4 branch manifold and collector pipe! To fit a 1600 k series!
  17. Standard roll bar Dedeon imperial Standard 1600 exhaust cam Petty strut, belive to be live axel but not sure Standard pair of cam pulleys All for donations!!
  18. Thanks everyone! Ended up making one from brass! For future reference if anyone is interested it is m20x 1.5 metric fine (Major diameter 20mm and minor 18.16mm Incase someone else wants to screw cut one) All went on fine with just a very small leak from one of the hoses on the sandwich plate! Going to wort out today!
  19. I bought the parts for my Apollo seperatly so I didn't get a drain bolt! Fitted it all but can't fill with oil! Very frustrating! Am I right in thinking that the bolt i need is M20x1.5 metric fine? Just need to confirm so I can make one tomorrow! What is the best material to make it from? Ali the same as the tank or mild steel or stainless?? Thanks Scott
  20. Quoting Graham D: Scott, Your original post suggests that DVA did ALL the work for you. Did he refit the head and time the cams? If he did, I would leave well alone, he knows what he’s doing. A few years ago he made the same modifications to the head of my 1.8 EU2 and it transformed it. The engine now feels more eager and is very free revving, but it still returns 40mpg, has no lumpy tick over, and it also appears to have acquired a nice burble on the overrun. You didn’t mention vernier cam pulleys. My car already had them, so I was able to set the new cams up using DVAs recommended settings. Graham Yea he did everything! I managed to get away without vernier pulleys! Dave modified another set of pulleys he had and shimmed it out so get the timing correct! I guess that means it is all timed to suit the ECU? Just thought if it was a case of swapping ECU's it would be easy power!
  21. Quoting sforshaw: Are you sure? It's not possible to fit a VVC inlet cam(s) to a K16 head Stu. Maybe it might have just been the exhaust cam? Not entirely sure, Dave Andrews did it for me! I will find out!
  22. The car was just a standard 1999 roadsport 1600, then had the VVC cams and porting!
  23. I have got my car back from DVA power and i had a set of VVC cams installed so a bit hotter than standard and also had some porting done. Would the car benifit from a supersport ECU at all? Reading the tread about peak power the rev limit is higher on a supersport ECU and i guess different fueling? Thanks Scott
  24. Quoting manningpaul: Yesterday (Monday) afternoon going past our house, surprising how fast a Seven looks doing 60mph And then heard later around 10:30, dropped it down a cog or two , sounds great with the new cams. Hope you enjoyed your blat to Cardiff and back. It was a nice drive down, car was find a supprisingly barable down the motorway! I thought you would be listening so dropped it down going past! Just cant get enough of the sound!
