The LT have accepted the financial risk, even with the likely reduction in numbers due to the additional double headers soon after both Curborough events. For this year let’s just see how it plays out. If the Marshals’ sprints don’t run even with those from our club who want to practice, they won’t run with a few more from the Sunday.

Agreed, if we don’t here back we should ALL try to get one, any extras we can hand back or even auction for PCR on the Friday.

Given the clear decrease in numbers something has to be done, reducing the number of events is the only option. This is needed to ensure survival of the championship, as without more entries per event it will not continue indefinitely. So if double headers are preferred we could drop three of the single events, for instance Goodwood, Aintree and Loton, and instead do double headers at Prescott, Harewood and Curbs. However, this reduces choice further. I think in 2024 we should trial the calendar as proposed without removing any further events. I think the proposed calendar is a good balance of events and venues whilst reducing the number as is necessary. If this doesn’t work then moving to six weekends is a sensible next step but I think is too large a step to do now.

I agree, but we should ALL try to get one, previously when we did this we only got two. If in the unlikely case we get more than three we can either cancel some or auction then on the day with any profit going to the club charity.
