  9. I have a complete 1.6 SS Engine,EU2, with ECU and blipper. Also Plenium It has been in storage inside a factory for 2 years, so dusty, not rusty!!!! It was running superbly when i removed it to replace with a 1.8 DVA. Kept it as a spare, but now it has to go. It had 30k on it, but was 100% when removed. I welcome any compression tests etc etc, money back if it all goes T up, but i am sure it will not. Buy with confidence. £800 Andy G

  11. Does Steve perks offer a full removal and installation service with a recon gearbox? I will call him tomorrow, just anxious to find out asap
  12. Hi As in the title 4th to 5th is crunchy above 4000rpm. Downshift is no prob. It is a race chassis so we have access to the top of the gearbox were the stick goes in. If we loosen remove the 4 bolts on the stick mounting, is there a plate which we can jiggle about in the hope of lining things up better? Or are we in deeper poo?
  13. ok down for Greg, give him a nudge to email me on saturday. Oily seems very busy until Sept, anyone know a good K series man to check my rod bearings?
  14. My car is not up for it, Geoff has exhausted the reserve list, so does anyone want to buy my slot? email andy@porticomidlands.co.uk
  15. Nope, not induction knock, as it is a recent addition and it carries on through the rev range. But it does not occur unless the engine is under load, i can rev as much as i like with clutch dipped or in neutral with none of this noise.
  16. As posted earlier, i have a clacking noise from my K engine, sounds as if a belt is catching somewhere, but alas not. As recommended i have checked and replaced my exhaust manifold gasket. Still noisy. I have noticed that it is ok until the oil heats up, i run mobil 1,15/50 and have done so for years. Tried lighter oil Mobil 1,0/40 the noise was a lot worse. Only occurs when the engine is hot and under load accelerating. Other than that still a stonking motor, oil pressure on manual gauge 40-65, oil level ok Cadwell booked for 26th, will it go pop? apprehensive Tantrum the Original
  17. cheers guys, i will check over the manifold this weekend Dash stopwatch dont tell Geoff
  18. Hi I have a DVA K05 which is approx 200bhp, it has started making a loud tick/knock noise but only under acceleration. The dry sump belt broke at SPA last year and damaged the belt plastic housing cover. I cannot see that this is now fouling a belt, but that is the sort of noise i am getting. Oil pressure fine, compression test fine, still bucket loads of power. S o i am carrying on as usual 😬 Any ideas asto what the problem maybe? Tantrum the Original
  19. Me I rode with mates from the Marquis drive visitor centre. The car and i are based in Chorley, Lichfield Tantrum the Original
  20. Having noticed a clunk from the rear 😳when i dab the breaks, a quick look under showed that the point where the 2 bars from A frame meet at the Dedion is loose. I need replacement nut/bolt washers and the plastic cone washers. I am unable to find them on the CC online shop, do i really need the plastic cones? andy Tantrum the Original
  21. Will this kit from CC cure my oil leak from the non fixed tower I have replaced the o rings but still have a leak from the larger of the 2 caps. Andy Tantrum the Original

    oil in airbox

Having looked again, you are spot on 😬 The greatest concentration of oil is where the breather pipe enters the airbox. Unfortunatley when the belt broke it trashed the micro switch, so unable to provide a picture. But i am sure the low oil pressure switch activated the super bright LED Very many thanks, just need to sort a leak from the CC dry sump tower, new o rings have not cured it, so i am going to look into a conversion via another post. Cheers guys and what an engine you built Oily Andy

    oil in airbox

i have a DVA 1.8 with B scouse airbox During a SPA trackday this week i had what appeared to be an oil leak at the Dry sump pump The dry sump belt went but early warning light saved the day , however as i pulled in i spotted a short 2m line of oil on the track Replaced belt, carried on with good oil pressure and no power loss etc Back at home i have taken off the airbox to get at the pump but find the airbox has a fair amount of oil in it which was dripping onto the pump Why is oil in the airbox? Why did i have what appears to have been a temporary major oil loss when the dry sump belt broke, but then stopped. Finally i can highly recommend fitting a low oil pressure switch and a Maplin high intensity LED flashing light , i did not notice the light that came with the switch. Andy Tantrum the Original
