  1. Sat at my desk in the middle of Swindon; hear a strange noise coming from one of the main routes into the town; turn round and see that the noise is coming from a steam roller doing about 5 mph. Surreal.
  2. Seen on Saturday heading from Cirencester towards Wootton Bassett. Gave up counting at 250!! Never seen so many from a single marque on the road before - that said there were a few modern German imposters in aoungst them.

I bought rubber sheet from Woolies car trimmers online. I made a template in cardboard then bonded the sheet with contact adhesive. If you e-mail me I will send some pictures.

It was me out for one of my first proper blats since taking ownership of my new toy! Had been to see my mate in Wotton Bassett, before going for a drive with him in his MG.....Great blat maybe a little more sedated than had I been on my own and without my son in the front seat, never the less great to get out and about. Unfortunately did not see you, but hope you had a good day at Cotswold Airshow? Had been there Saturday and really enjoyed the day, although I suspect you had the better weather?

Had a great day at the Airshow thanks. Came back with wind burn to my face (stop sniggering at the back!). Dry all day too.

Enjoy your new toy. I live just outside Wootton Bassett so if you ever want another car along for a drive....

  5. Dark blue with black pack. We turned left towards Broad Town as you approached from the Lyneham direction so didn't get your plate. Hope you enjoyed your drive. We were travelling home from the Cotswold Airshow.
  6. Upright piano in good working order. Not too worried about any minor cosmetic blemishes. Similarly age is not an issue.

Preferably within 75-100 miles radius of J16 M4.

I took my car to a local chap in Kemble, Gloucestershire called Neil Garner. His garage look after my car to include servicing and MOTs etc. Neil used to work in F1 as mechanic to Alonso. Couldn't recommend them highly enough. They charge about £60 per hour for their labour so, factoring the minimal cost of the seal, you can see how long it took them to do the job.

    Hope that helps.

  8. Had this on my Sigma car. Cost £175 to get it replaced (it was out of warranty). I was expecting the 'box and engine to have to come out so was pleasantly surprised that the seal could be replaced with it all in situ.

  9. My five year old decided he would "help" me to clean the car. I turned my back for a couple of minutes and he took a grit laden sponge to my VW Monza alloys. The scuffing that resulted is surface only.

Suggestions for removal? Have tried T-Cut which only made a slight difference.

    Thanks in anticipation.

  10. BRG passing through Broad Town near Wootton Bassett earlier this afternoon. Only saw the rear of the car so not sure whether car had yellow stripe and/or nose band.

Reg something like S20 ***. Sounded nice as you accelerated up the hill.

  11. Have just put 1 litre of oil in after 1,700 miles. The car is a 1.4 TSI petrol engined Polo. I know the manual says you can expect consumption of up to one litre every 1,000 kms but I have never experienced that before in a new car. Should I be concerned?
