  1. CR500 still available and Avon intend to keep making it. In many ways it is better for a 7 than the zzr/s. I ran some ZZRs on my R400 and tgen switched back to CR500s. It's a much better car and driving experience. CR500 was designed for the 7. BMTR free fitting and balance if you can go there. If not, most local non national tyre shops will fit/valve/balance for around a tenner a corner. I'm amazed after so, so many posts on BC confirming continued availability of our lovely purpose made tyre that people still ask. Just go buy 'em!
  2. Once you've fitted you de Dion ear, check the camber because the tube can bend too. Check A-frame tubes are straight. Up front, stub axle bends but should be ok if you have only grazed the wheel. Full flat-floor set up after will see it good.
  3. 0.87G is pretty strong.

With ABS tripped on dry road it could be less.

In a 7 with grippy tyres, nice aggregated road surface, good brake balance and enough pedal feel and progression for a skilled driver to get into the deep slip zone.... Maybe 1G possible...?

  4. Also can try cleaning surface of pads by drawfiling with a medium file. remove sheen snd embedded contamination.

Ceratec is a better lubricant for calipers - does not dry out and no clarty solids build up. Designed for the purpose.

  5. CR500 has not been replaced.

ZZR/S range is a much heavier tyre designed to give Avon an offering in the much wider tintop trackday market. Tried them and went straight back to CR500. The ZZR/S loses so much of the7's chassis ride and steering delicacy they are just not worth it imo.

  6. If you buy the 8 spokes they come in the right offsets. Front ET24, Rear ET0. The wheel hubs pcd and studs did not change when chassis went "metric". If you want 6"/8" combo better to get from the start otherwise you are just creating your own upgrade money pit. Whether 8" rears are really required is a whole different debate...
  7. Most tyres have more grip than ZV3 in the wet. They also have very stiff carcass construction which is utterly at odds with the requirements of a light car. The movement of the centre of pressure of the contact patch introduces many issues, even on a heavy Mercedes!
  8. Be aware that polybushes work on a different principle to bonded rubber bushes. It is not all positive as people selling them or people who have just spent their hard earned cash may tell you. As above: fix your leak!
