  1. I made up some sleeves in bronze and they dont rust and run nicely against dodgy old bolts too. and make me feel better.

I notice you appear to be thinking of using 150lb springs on widetrack. My orig spec 7 used 170lb springs front and rear and that is considered low for the track. I think that 260lb front wouldn't be overdoing it but I reckon that's what's on mine now for road/track mix.

I understand you can go higher than that for track but you'll want to uprate the rear too I would imagine. Again above 170lb rear would seem sensible but which to choose? I'm not sure. Someone on here must have some stiffer springs for the rear. Prettry sure I've got some 260lbs frt somewhere in my garage that I'm not using, someone will have some they don't want

  2. Fog wiring often earths to the back panel. That earth doesn't last long (steel plus ally). Is your number plate light also affected? They often use the same earth. You need to run a proper earth back there should this be the problem 😔
  3. I'm going to fit a electronic speedo to my 7 and need to site the sensor somewhere. I was planning on mounting it to sense from the propshaft. Where is this sensor positioned on cars newer than 1992!?

  4. Ialso had the "problem". I spent ages looking for loose bits, worn bushes, several tracking adjustments, worn track rods etc then with someone else available (phil w) was able to determine that the rack was at fault. Once the rack was disassembled it was found that the yoke attaching the rack end to the track rod had broken, new rack required.

Point is, no way would I find that on my own

and no, the Phoenix is no longer terribly local for me, damn it :(

  5. I've treated my red/brown fibreglass garage doors with Autoglym bumper care and have discovered it brings back all the lustre. No other effort required. I put loads on with a sponge and just wiped off. Saved me some dough, they were looking that rough I was going to replace them for that reason alone.
