    2012 Supersport

It's gone ☹️ The new owner was very keen and i'm sure will soon be joining the club after the recommendation I gave it. I just hope he manages to adjust the pedal box to allow more legroom as, even with the seat on its furthest setting, he couldn't get his feet onto the pedals! His father -in-law had a test drive much sooner than he was expecting and not just a blat but a 2 hour motorway journey @ +1 degree! Good on him. It's been great fun, a brief but wonderful experience. All the best with your 7's, lucky peeps. Neil

    2012 Supersport

It's heart wenching to have to sell but this is a house we've admired from a distance for some time, one that in reality is out of our price range but comes with plans for a 4 bedroom property in the grounds that we've already agreed a price to sell to builder friend of ours which makes the whole deal possible. It hasn't come to market for 40 years and most likely won't do again if we get our hands on it. The car money will go towards the chancellor's cut, which makes it even more painful. I just hope the Supersport doesn't sell and then the deal falls through, that would be Great, great car, i'll miss it.

    2012 Supersport

Hugely reluctanlty i'm putting my as new 2012 Supersport up for sale due to a dream home purchase opportunity that will require all available funds. 2012 Supersport 1.6 Sigma Factory build and registered May, 2012. 700m White with blue decals 5 speed but with the close ratio gearbox that non many had fitted. LSD Carbon cycle wings Carbon indicator pods Carbon whiskers 12v socket Half doors Armorfend protection Never used in the wet All standard spec thereafter. Run-in for 600m with no revs above 4000, then just had service carried out at CC. It's been polsihed and admired much more than driven and it's condition is what you would expect it to be if you were collecting the car new from the showroom. My father, my two sons and I will be crying on it's departure. £23500 ono Neil Edited by - nbc on 9 Jan 2013 12:24:55
  6. Diff supplied with new car this year, letter received last week. I'll be waiting for April.
  7. We can no longer make it and we're gutted, they are fantastic live, i've seen them three times at Brixton Academy. 3 No Tickets O2 London Arena, 12th December, 2012. Block 420 Row S From 933 To 935 It'll be a great gig. They were £105 all in, open to offers. Many thanks Neil
  8. The pea shooter exhaust on my 2012 Supersport is definitely going to upset track day decibel readers so i'm looking for a silncer, incorporating the cat, for a cleaner look, that would meet these levels, does anyone have any recommendations at all please? I've heard the Raceco items are good, are these a 'cat in a can' design? Or best go with CC's trackday option? Many thanks Neil
  9. Quoting ozzy: Well if that's the case. How DO they get away with it then? Especially, if it could cost a customer Big Time! Something doesn't ring true here As i understand it, the standard lights are used for the IVA test and then swapped afterwards. Edited by - ozzy on 10 Jun 2012 18:51:03
  10. Just been told by CTEK that there chargers aren't gauranteed for use on Lithium batteries. What's the general concensus with chargers for Lithium batteries, will any good, conditioning unit work or is a Lithium only style charger required? Shame if you can't use, say a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger for both cell types.

    Armourfend

Looking to get the rear wheel arches protected with the dog leg sections but worried they'll be tricky to fit wit the curvature, anyone had any experience trying to fit these? Might well take it to Armourfend in Hainault and get it done properly, anyone used them before? They've said it's best to take the stone guard off first but don't fancy having to rivet it back on tbh, might just get them to go around it. Thanks Neil
  12. Has anyone used this at all? http://www.bilthamber.com/pro-introduction.php?cname=Corrosion Prevention&name=dynax-UC Sounds a good product and I know there Dynax S50 get good reviews but just wondered about the UC as it's a more appelaing, to me, clear, thin film as opposed to the gloopy 50.

    Supersport Gearbox

Many. many thanks for all your responses, really, very much appreciated. I'm going to fight this one all the way as the orginal spec sheet from the time I placed my order clearly stated '5 speed cloe ratio Caterham gearbox', so that is what I'll get. It's now been revised incidentally with it omitted. oh, whats this.... email form Tim... i'll keep you posted. Thanks again
  14. A newbie signing in, good morning. I've been informed that my new Supersport will likely not have the close ratio gearbox and that, in reality, it doesn't make much difference to overall acceleration. Apparently, it's the 3.91 diff that makes it the 'sprint ratio gearing' listed in the spec but i've read the spec again and it also lists a '5-speed sprint ratio Caterham gearbox' too, so my questions are: .1. Is it true that its the diff that makes the difference and not the gearbox? .2. Why would they fit some with the 36G003A box close ratio box if it didn't make a difference? .3. What would you do about excepting the car without it? Incidently, the demo SS is fitted with the std box apparently. I've been so excited for so long about picking this car up but this has tarnished things slightly; I feel very angry about it, especially that I wasn't informed by CC themselves about the spec change, afterall, the close ratio gearing was a big reason why I went the SS route and i feel I'm being short changed. What should I do, what can I do? Any help/opinions hugely appreciated.
