  6. hI SMIFFY I have an unused, spare set of ractec mounts to fit on windscreen £5 + post; bought 2 sets by mistake.
  7. Hi andy Have sent email re first dibs on wind deflectors Michael
  8. Hi check starter mount bolts are in place and tight. I ve heared of a chap who had a similar problem with a missing bolt.
  9. Hi If you have a normal coil fitted as standard ie live feed in, -ve out, try removing the wire which goes to earth via distributor and use this as a 'make & break' connection by touching its mating terminal and removing. This should induce the coil to to off load its charge. Check this as I suggested in my last post. This should elliminate (dodgy spelling?) the coil and put the focus on the distributor.
  10. Try removing coil HT lead from distributor; turn engine by hand until points fully closed. Switch on ignition open and close points with screw driver whilst holding HT lead from coil 5+mm from block, and see what you get. Should be good fat spark?
  11. errrrrrr! Thanks for the tip Mr Jackson; much appreicate your input. In passing, Ive used thread tape on those connections do you have any info on leaks and or becoming lose in service ie high temp and virbration stress. When you have time. thanks
  12. Hi Dave Many thanks, all set now when the weather improves.
  13. Hi Dave Excellent! I did see this' but as it looked unusual was not sure what it was and did not want what I thought would be pressure springs and valves flying around my garage and spending the rest of the day failing to find them. Is there anything to be aware of when I remove the bung and filter? Many thanks Michael
  14. Hi Combine & ECR Thanks for your reply. At a push I will follow you and remove a couple of allen bolts. Not too keen on removing oil hose as these were a pig to fit. Cheers
  15. Hi Could any one could give me the heads-up on wether it is recommended to remove residual oil in dry sump. (Duratec 2012 caterham system) I plan drain oil tank, no probs, but can not find a drainage bung for the sump? Is there a way of achieving this or not necessary. Many thanks
