Good to see you and Steve at Brands last night. I'm off to C Dartford shortly, to get my rattling spare wheel carrier tightened up, for the fourth time... Michael

  4. How on earth did I miss this one? My first spot. Not just a big grin, a HUGE one! Thanks Ian. Michael
  5. Only 32 when he died! Was he clad all in brown, waving his sword and standing on a pedestal on the village green? If so, that was him. Ian, I was thinking about fitting a chandelier, and I'll get Martin to advise on installing central heating. For my garage, not my car. 😬 Martin, you'd be very welcome. I hope for final date confirmation over the next few days. Should be around April 4th. I'll post the good news separately.
  6. Soldier waving a sword? That would be General James Wolfe of Quebec fame. He was born in Quebec House. Still clearing out the junk Ian, and on schedule to have it spotless in time for the new arrival.

  9. At 1020 hrs today, Saturday, travelling east on A25 past Churchill's statue on the green. I'm the bloke that gave you a and Great Union Jack hood! One lump or... Seven?
  10. Previous threads on this subject have mentioned using POR15, but I've no personal experience of it. A motor cycle enthusiast friend pointed me towards ACF50 which I'm told is in very common use by that fraternity. I've used it for the last 3.5 years on my Defender chassis rear crossmember and some other places. For a 3+year old Defender, I claim the only rust-free rear crossmember in the UK! I'm on my third successive Defender and, using ACF50 on this one, it's the first time I've managed to hold off the rust on this notoriously rusty area. It's dead easy to apply - I spray it on 2 or 3 times a year - and it's not disgustingly messy like Waxoyl. Consistency is more akin to WD40. So you don't get it all over your trousers and shoes when you climb in and out of my Landy. Check it out here I'm planning to give my Roadsport a going over with it when I get it next Spring. One lump or... Seven?
  11. Ah! Got it. Thanks guys, for the explanation and the hint which I'll probably take up later. MIchael Edited by - MichaelG on 13 Oct 2010 20:36:44
  12. Hi Tim, You are my first respondent. Thank you, and congratulations! I'm boggled too, trying to fathom out how all of this posting stuff works. Wanted to get my 'one lump etc" (deep meaning here) to show where "novice" shows currently, but can't sort it. Guidance notes/instructions aren't completely clear, but I'm getting there. I am of course a complete novice so I shouldn't really complain... I shall shortly attempt my first real introductory post, on ChitChat Fingers crossed. Michael One lump or... Seven?
  13. mmmm close but not quite. Back to the drawing board. One lump or... Seven?
  14. Is this what I intended to show? One lump or... Seven?
