  1. Also posted on Chitchat The "In the Office" setting isn't working for me. When I click on the link the colour changes to a subtle shade of grey. However as soon as I go to a different page (or refresh) it reverts back to the default scheme. However the setting has been remembered as the link isn't underlined. The same is true for the "Big Type" scheme. I'm using XP SP3 & IE7 with all the latest patches. In fact I think this started when the last bugs patches were installed. I've tried deleting temporary internet files and cookies without success. Mark Waitin' on a sunny day Gonna chase the clouds away
  2. 3 spots yesterday - most I've seen in months. P reg, Dodge Viper Blue (nice colour ) on the A404 from Wycombe to Amersham about 13:45. Q reg, Yellow on Lane End Rd in Wycombe LIme green & 'pressing on' on the A404 from Chorleywood to Amersham about 17:30. Sadly we weren't in the 7 Mark Waitin' on a sunny day Gonna chase the clouds away
  3. akakubi, does this only happen with the bonnet on? If so have you checked the heater hoses aren't rattling against the bonnet (see my post on the 1st page)? Mark Waitin' on a sunny day Gonna chase the clouds away [edited for poor grammar] Edited by - MTH on 29 Sep 2008 12:14:02
  4. Orange with black stripe heading towards Blandford on Saturday. Not sure of the time, but it was probably about 14:30 - 15:00. Sadly we weren't in the 7. Mark Waitin' on a sunny day Gonna chase the clouds away
  5. Spotted heading from Amersham towards HW on Sunday about 17:45. Mark Waitin' on a sunny day Gonna chase the clouds away
  6. I've just had the tintop (VW Bora) MOTd. It passed, but the garage pointed out some unusual wear on the offside front tyre. The inside corner of the tyre has been worn smooth for about 50% of the circumference. The rest of the tyre has worn normally and is consistent with both the mileage and the wear on the nearside tyre. Over the last few months there has been a slight wobble in the steering, consistent with a slightly out-of-balance wheel. The garage could only put it down to the tyre being out of shape. Is there anything else it could be? Thanks Mark Waitin' on a sunny day Gonna chase the clouds away
  7. If you're willing to travel as far as Ratrace then also consider a short trip up the A10 to the 7 Workshop in Hoddesdon. Mark Waitin' on a sunny day Gonna chase the clouds away
  8. I had something similar. Turned out that at certain revs the bonnet would resonate and rattle against a jubilee clip attached to one of the heating hoses. I only found it because of tell-tale marks on the underside of the bonnet. Mark Mark -----Waitin' on a sunny day Gonna chase the clouds away
  9. I'm running at 18psi at the moment but have only done 200 miles. Mark -----Waitin' on a sunny day Gonna chase the clouds away

    A404 Sunday

Yellow, heading from Amersham towards Wycombe on the A404. Probably about 5pm on Sunday. Mark Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm
  12. Just checked the archives and the consensus appears to be that 17-18 psi gives good grip and even tyre wear. I'll change it tomorrow. Mark Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm
  13. Mine are 185/60 R14 so a different profile. I span the wheels leaving home this morning and was told to slow down by a pedestrian, even though I was only doing 20mph at the time . Not surprising from cold with the release agent still on the tyres, although could it indicate the pressure is a bit high? However the tyres are new so I need to experiment a bit with pressures. I'll check if it 19psi tomorrow as I hope they'll be a bit warm when I get home tonight... Mark Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm
  14. I've just had A021s fitted to Caterham 14" alloys and am running these at 19psi at the moment. Within 2 miles there was a real improvement in grip over the old ZV1s, and that was in the wet. The tyres throw up so much muck now I'll be washing the car at bit more often However I've not really noticed any extra bounce. Never having had the Goodyears I can't comment on those. The road noise is different to the old tyres, but I wouldn't say it's significantly louder. I certainly don't notice it over the noise of a 1.8K roadsport. 15. Got them fitted now. What a difference over the old ZV1s 😬, and I've only done 15 miles in the wet. Why didn't I make the change sooner! Tread depth on the 185/60 R14 is 8mm (approx as I don't have a tread depth guage) Mark Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm
