I can only offer my opinion.... I had the Premier Power 155 upgrade to my sigma 125 back in April/ May this year, and haven't had a moments regret. I decided to err on the side of caution and chose 155 as a good level of power for touring, and didn't want to get into trouble in my 1st year of ownership. PP did a really professional job and the engine looks immaculate, as well as performing really well. It's also been very reliable and I think I've clocked up about 4K on it already. Stuart is a pleasure to deal with too, which helps when you're stumping up that much cash.
Might even upgrade to 175 in due course. I'm hoping to be at the PP open day and would be very happy to give you a passenger ride.

I've had my Sigma 125 Roadsport SV for just about a year now and have clocked up 5000 miles just on general touring round my locale, with the odd trip further afield. My immediate 'upgrades' were a half hood and a shower cap, both from Softbits.
It's also no longer a 125 either! Premier Power worked their magic on it some 3-4 months ago, taking it up to a proven 155bhp with their upgrade package. In my opinion it's transformed the car. Still very easy to drive, perfect for touring with just that extra bit of grunt, but not so much that you're going to get into trouble when the road is wet and greasy. The engine note i perfect too! And as my skill improves I can choose to add on the 175 or even the 200 bhp package.

Guilty as charged - though it's an SV Roadsport. We were sat outside the tea shop near the obelisk-thing and I saw a caterham drive past.... must have been you. Just spent 4 days touring round Wales, starting from Hertfordshire.

Phil - not worry. I appreciate you looking though.
-
Phil - if you do that would be fantastic. Caterham have been out of stock for the past two months and the touring season is fast approaching! Even a lend of one until new stock arrives would work for me.

Does anyone have a spare spare wheel carrier they'd like to find a good home for? I'm after a metric, bolt on one for an SV (caterham part no. 30P061A) and would be willing to pay a fair price for it.

Garth - I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it once it's safely back in your hands. I'm in Hertfordshire - so a bit of a trek to your neck of the woods, but you never know. If not, might see you on one of the blats, such as the Fish and Chip run?
-
Garth - sound advice. I think for my style of driving the 155bhp upgrade would really suffice. Very tempting to go to 175 but I don't really need that much - so probably best to be sensible!!

Dear Marge,
I'm contemplating a Premier Power upgrade of my Sigma 1.6 - to take it up to either 155 or 175bhp. Both sound interesting. I'd really enjoy the extra acceleration, particularly when I'm out on a blat with folk with speedier kit. however, I don't want to sacrifice what I perceive to be the good reliability of the standard engine. Ai, I worrying needlessly?
