  2. Dave You've been working late..... Have you executed the Ford dealer yet? Stu New batch of hens in situ, but not laying yet....Customers not happy!! Batch of ducks yet to come from Pentrefoelas....thanks Justin and Sara. Malcolm
  3. Well, seems I have the same diagnosis, at last. All of the oil drillings on the exhaust side of the cylinder head are poorly aligned, and 2 completely miss the oil groove in the cam follower altogether. Inlet drilling are in perfect alignment. This will come as some relief to those of you who are fed up having to ask me if it's fixed yet......Time to get the Dremel out. Maybe in the future cylinder head machining in China will better than Brum.(Virtually brand new cylinder head, but I won't let on who I bought it from 😳) Malcolm
  4. Well, Nick, when you've sold that you could buy a few more sevens..... Malcolm
  5. Bruce The best bits of the 1400 ss are above 6k rpm ❗ Thrash it, it's virtually indestructable. The Haynes manual is ok. Rover belt is fine. malcolm

  8. Jono I'm with Daniel with this...... go 1800. Easy upgrade and not too expensive. Makes a big difference, although mine was a 5 speed 1400 which is significantly worse than your 6 speed. Email me if you want some details, costs etc Malcolm
  9. Graham, I am unsure if my MIRA sprint entry was too late or not. However, if the entry is too late, I am available to help with marshalling. Please let me know either way. Malcolm Hickey
  10. Graham Have you received my form and cheque sent about 10 days ago? or was I too late? Malcolm Hickey
  11. Dannyboy.... so that dyno was telling fibs..... Malcolm
  12. Barbara Thanks for your help last night with the fax. At least I can access blatchat here at work Malcolm
  13. Matt I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help here..... I only ever had the engine out of my S3, rather than engine and gearbox. But I looked in my old workshop manual last night in an attempt to answer your question The instructions were as follows:( ❗) 1. Attach engine to gearbox 2. Refit engine/gearbox assembly to car 3. Reconnect propshaft 4. Reconnect engine ancillaries. Clearly it can be done......With these sort of instructions I'm just glad I didn't buy the car as a kit in 1967!! Try asking Norman Verona. Malcolm
  14. OK Rich. Good luck with the sale Malcolm

  17. I have spoken to Mary at Egger Lawson this lunch time. She is prepared to provide track day insurance on the 23rd as Llandow is now one of their approved circuits and ''....this trackday is managed by and operates to the rules of Llandow Circuit Ltd." They are also aware that it is not a L7C trackday. Malcolm

  19. Thanks Peter. New followers, old cams. Still same advice?
  20. I will be fitting new hydraulic cam followers on my K engine this coming week. How important is cam lube? Engine currently has fully synth oil and presumably they won't bed in properly with this alone. Thanks
