  1. Testing the water to see if anyone has a Gold Pump Dry Sump system including tower. Im looking to upgrade from a purple system due to highly tuned engine and hopefully some track action planned.
  2. I would say they are in good condition. There are a some surface marks which were on them when I got them. I'll send you some photos. Im in Stafford but I could reduce your travel by meeting you somewhere around south Birmingham. I don't know the age of them. I bought them in July 13 second hand.
  3. Hi, As my latest 7 has already got tillets I'm now selling the pair which I had in my SV. They are the usual black Caterham branded tillets. Both have runners. £400 the pair.
  4. The previous owner told me that is what he put in it. He was advised to by a fellow club member. I haven't been able to fully investigate exactly which seal/seals is/are leaking however it's dripping from the front of the gearbox but this is the lowest point and the bracket at the back of the gearbox is damp to touch.
  5. Yes I tested the switch with a volt meter on and off with the ignition on.
  6. On the plate in the engine bay it says Ep80 for the gearbox and EP90 for the diff. Currently they both have ATF in them. The gearbox is weeping fluid slightly when warm but would this stop if EP80 was in the box rather than ATF? i think it's got a ZF diff in it. I am planning to put the fluids in named on the plate under the bonnet, what's the benefit of ATF in there instead?
  7. Neither of My brake lights are working, Switch works and has power. Fuse is ok. Bulbs are ok. Brake lights appear to use the same earth as side lights and they work. Any ideas? Break in a cable somewhere?
  8. Yes thanks to Lindsay Mercer. Wouldn't want his Cayman SV getting it wrong there, bodywork would be very expensive.
  9. Reply from Course Secretary: One problem we have is that Recticel no longer make the barriers we have, so we are investigating what type to have there. The hump is actually a slight dip, and this will be levelled early in the year. Regards David
  10. Personally I wouldn't implement a change that affects safety without having all the equipment. They may have shock absorbers to go infront of the Armco but people are completing trackdays without it. I might go on Boxing Day to see what its like. As I previously said, I'm awaiting a reply from the Course Secretary.
  11. I have emailed the course secretary David Pattison (Man on the bike) to confirm their plans. With the arrival of the Armco they should do something about the hump on the crossover which appeared throughout the season. Will update when I get a reply unless anyone is more in the know.
  12. Whilst watching a YouTube video, hopefully linked above, I noticed what looks like a 25m stretch of Armco exactly where Mr Durrant exited the track in August. MI have email the organises of Curborough about it but just wondered if anyone had heard about any changes. Based on Mark's off you would imagine a caterham would be in much worse shape hitting Armco. I thought of the poor R400 driver at Harewood who's light touch meant a visit to Arch. hopefully it's not Armco but a cushion that looks like it?
  13. I could do you a deal on 2 Mr Matchwick.
  14. I am looking to pick up a Caterham over the next couple of weeks. The local trailer hire places are closed over christmas and they only have very large covered trailers (7' x 17') available when they are open. Just wondering if I could borrow a trailer, its for a S3 which doesn't (currently) have a cover and a quantity of spares.
  15. Not in possession yet but I am arranging collection in a week or two. Preseason prep will give me something to do in January.
  16. Due to me swapping from an SV to a S3 for the 2015 Speed Championship I have a number of parts to sell to make space for new spare parts!! Before anything goes on eBay I thought I'd offer to the club members. SV FIA Roll Bar part number 59032u currently for sale for over £300, which I ended up paying only 10 months ago. None on eBay. £150 Sold SV Petty Strut purchased with and fits to the above FIA Roll Bar £25 Sold 15 x 6.5 inch Superlight anthracite Caterham alloy wheels without tyres £300 Sold Kumho V70 195/50 R15 x2 Soft Compound K22 used on approx 6 sprints. Purchased from Mel Williams in May. £180 Kumho V70 205/50 R15 x2 Super Soft Compound K12 used on approx 6 sprints. Purchased from Mel Williams in May. £180 SV Half Hood Soft Bits For Sevens £120 Sold Soft Bits For Sevens Tunnel Bag Touring (I think as it came with the car when I bought it) It fitted over the leather topped tunnel, has Velcro large pocket on passenger side. £50 Sold SV Soft Bits For Sevens Trailering Shower Cap In as new condition, used when towing to sprints, great thing to have, I'm ordering a new one for my S3. Requires a windscreen and fits an FIA bar. £100 Sold (in 1 hour 30 mins) All parts can be collected from Stafford or you can arrange a courier to pick them up. Photos are available on request, if you have a specific thing photographed (nothing rude please) and I'll try to accommodate. Thanks
  17. I haven't missed your point. But obviously I made the mistake of entering into a seemingly pointless conversation with you. You don't seem to agree with much anyone says. See you at Blyton!
  18. This isn't 1960's America. Not everything needs to have a conspiracy theory. If your comparing the entries at Wiscombe 20 to Blyton's 31 then it seems clear the majority attend Blyton. If you want to get Wiscombe back on the calendar, the effort your putting into posting about why Wiscombe's been dropped should be put into making people want to attend it. Maybe a social or an event people feel validates their journey. You can of course compete at Wiscombe if you prefer that over Blyton, you just won't score any L7C Championship points. Seeing as I'll likely be in Class 5 next year, I might score more points if you did.
  19. When posting about the 2014 Provisional Calendar on 8th October 2013 Matt wrote: "Those that look particularly vulnerable are Epynt and Wiscombe so you must support those events if you want them to stay." This was the warning, and the increase in numbers seen at Wiscombe this season was probably down to this. The uptake wasn't enough.
  20. If we want torque limits it would have to be for all in the class and someone has got to work out what's acceptable. It's a good idea as it makes a difference but might take a couple of seasons to get the rules prepared? i know this is clubman motorsport but a feeling of injustice stays with people and if rules exist there should be an enforcement structure. Most people judge there performance by looking for the closest spec car to them and mentally adjusting the differences.
  21. I don't agree with saying cars that came with TB's are allowed but cars that have them added after manufacture aren't. How are we going to know? And what do we say to people who have bought a 2nd hand 1.8 k which someone has added TB's to? Having these sub rules makes competing very complicated and we could still end up with people competing in Class 4 with 155bhp just because its non standard? i thought the point of the rule was to even K's and Sigmas, not stopping people building the optimum car for the rules? If we do that are we not saying you cant modify your car towards the power limit?
  22. Having run the only SV last season in Class 3, people don't see it as a disadvantage, and as Chris points out its width is an advantage on circuits, such as Llandow. I wouldn't say I possess that much driver skill as I had only been karting on a couple of stag do's before doing sprinting this year but I wouldn't think the power/weight would make as much as 10bhp difference. Ask Phil Matchwick who ran the same engine in a S3. It was very close, and he had the elusive aeroscreen.
  23. But seriously, looking at the 2 Curborough results on the club website neither Phil's R300 or the 161bhp R300 upgraded engined car looked out of place through the speed traps. If this is the preferred method of identifying an overpowered car it would suggest they are both acceptable???
