  1. Thanks James, got the car booked in with someone who is supposed to be a bit of a guru in this department on Saturday afternoon, so will let you know how I get on.
  2. Thanks Derek. I retraced my steps, even replaced plugs with an old set which I gapped to 1mm. Replaced my coil which I had taken off (new one hasn't arrived), gave the crank sensor connection a wiggle and away she went!!, so don't know what the no start was, which is annoying, but still leaves me with a car that won't pass mot emissions.
  3. Quick update. Had RAC out to it, he couldn't find the problem either. Couldn't interrogate ecu. He suggested trying another coil pack, which is coming tomorrow (even though the original one seems to check out ok)

  5. DW199 Thanks for that. I must admit it's something I never considered and probably would end up with a bunch of bent valves if the cambelt had snapped, but nevertheless a simple check which I'll look at. John

  7. Hi John, yes the plug was resting on the exhaust primary. What is now stumping me is I disconnected the connector to the coil and I'm getting 12v there so presumably should get a spark at the plugs?
  8. All fuses check out OK, changed o2 sensor for 2nd hand one I had. No luck

  10. Sorry John, the chap stopped and cancelled the test as soon as it failed emissions, so he didn't charge me. I should have been clearer on my first post

  19. hi all, having real trouble with my 270s. Took for mot which it failed miserably on emissions, over 9 on co2. Very reluctant to star recently. Changed battery today because the old one was getting tired. Now it won't start, turns over fine, removed spark plug and it was wet. Turned over with plug still removed and there was no spark. Really at my wits end now don't know what else to do. The car is standard self built by me in 2015/16. Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. John
  20. Thanks for your reply. It was indeed leaking from the core. It does seem strange that a more advanced antifreeze (oat) would damage ali, but I'm not an expert
  21. Having taken my rad to North Wales Radiators, they informed me it was unrepairable . I am now the proud owner of a radtec radiator. After looking at several posts on here about various antifreeze to use, I phoned Darren at radtec. He informed me not to use oat antifreeze but use iat instead. Apparently oat doesn't like standing for any length of time. CC recommend oat. So consequently I'm totally confused. Any help gratefully received.

    Hi all, Whilst playing about under the bonnet I've noticed an open ended pipe from the ECU. Don't think it's right but can't for the life of me find where it may connect. Sigma 270

  25. Just noticed water under rad on my 2016 270 sigma. Ran it up hoping it might be a hose clip, but no when up to temp it started steaming like a kettle. Are these Ali radiators repairable or am I going to have to bite the bullet
