  6. Steve, Peel Pop Rivets as shown above can be obtained from RS Components, part number RS 511-6829, £2.29 per bag of 100. Note: that the flange is 6.65mm and will need filing down a bit to fit inside a press stud. Cheers Formerly 7 COX, Rob Cox-Allison's Road Brick here
  7. Ooops I've deleted the jpg. rivets. I've just had two more pull out last night so I'll take a few pics. If you're over at Penn Sevens meet this weekend I'll bring a few over. 8. Oh! my block is 701M and has an L cast into the inlet side. The head has 26E311WM cast into the web behind no4 spark plug . This I believe is the lotus part number for the cylinder head and the WM signifies that it was cast by William Mills. Below that there is LM8 WP, I don't know what that signifies. Then I've got LP 344 stamped into the back of the head below the web, this is the serial number of the head. Mines an quite an early one and is die cast. The later heads were all sand cast. The die cast heads can be identified by the semi circluar protrusion beteen the plugs. Cheers Formerly 7 COX, Rob Cox-Allison's Road Brick here
  9. I'm looking for a bar for a short cockpit live axle car too. I was told some time back that the roof will not fit with the FIA bar. I don't know if this is still the case. Formerly 7 COX, Rob Cox-Allison's Road Brick here Edited by - TwinCam Jeff on 19 Jun 2006 22:38:52
  10. Looking thought QED's price lists they only have one wet sump pan and one dry sump pan listed, but sell parts for the standard 116E block and the tall block. So it sounds like the same pan will fit both. Better try giving QED a ring on 01509 412317 to confirm. Formerly 7 COX Rob Cox-Allison's Road Brick here

  12. Hi, that's where it is! Cheers. They have stamped the chassis plate wrong though the engine number is 6SM82L not ZL Thanks Jeff
  13. I'm trying to find out if the Twin Cam in my 1982 Seven was an original installation. The engine is not identified by the chassis number and I can't find any sign of the engine number stamped on the chassis plate on the engine itself. The number on the plate is 6SM8ZL. Anyone know what type of engine this could be referring to, or where the engine number is stamped on a Lotus Twin Cam? Cheers Jeff
  14. Hi, anyone know where I can get an FIA bar for a '82 short cockpit, live axle 7?
  15. Ferrino.., they are not countersunk but I've not had a problem with the fouling the mating popper, the flanges are a bit oversized at 6mm, but I just file a bit off from round the outside. Easily done by sticking the mandrel (spikey bit) in a drill and holding a file on the flange. For a new car I'd stick with the caterham ones. These rivets come into their own once the originals have pulled out and made the hole oversized. They are especially useful for the press studs on the side of the car were you can't get to the blind side to put a washer in. You can get them from RS Components about £3.00 per bag for 100. I expect screw fix will sell them cheaper though. Cheers Jeff
