Just resurrecting this thread as I am thinking of changing my oil pressure sender to mechanical, and making this mod to give me oil temperature also.
Firstly thanks Tom for this info and diagram - very informative. I think I will do exactly as you have.
My question is where on a 1.6 wet sump K series can I easily insert a temperature sender?

My 2006 K series beeper is just behind the dash close to the indicator switch. It's small, about the size of 3 5pence pieces stacked up. I put some electrical tape over mine to muffle the beep as it is very loud without it.

Has anyone received the email with a link to the photos from Tuesday?

Been there, in the snow, on the side of a main road unable to free the wheel off the hub on my tin-top. Breakdown man finally turned up with a rubber mallet and knocked off the wheel with one judicious blow. So frustrating!
I've taken to applying a small amount of copper slip around the edge of the hub, but not had cause to see if it has worked.

When they are 'unfolded' and stacked, do they lock into each other to stop the top one sliding over the bottom one?

I've not replaced mine when I did the same as you. No issues in 4 years

Does anyone have one? CC are out of stock as are Redline.
I recently swapped to JAL rear lights, and the existing 3rd brake light wiring came directly off the bulb holder in the old lights.

Still for sale? If so can you let me know the age, and also if it has the ability to take an external mic?

I have a 1.6k with a wet sump and apollo and i've not had a problem on trackdays.

I'm with Nick on this, convex side mirrors and flat centre mirror. The centre mirror can sometimes block your view of your nearside front wheel, so I do remove it when I am doing a trackday, but it's fine on the road.

I just bought 8 of them direct from Bighead £1.77 each (although the P&P was a bit steep at £8)

Anyone got a spare one they would be willing to part with. Mine came off at Rockingham yesterday and, while I thought it was OK, it does have a nasty crack in it.

Daniel French did, and wrote about it. I haven't seen him post on here for a while, but I guess you can contact him through his blog

2 Caterham Lightweight 6x13 Apollo wheels and tyres for sale. Wheels are finished in black and silver and fitted with CR 500 (175/55-R13) tyres. Wheels are in excellent condition. The tyres are part worn having covered only 2000 miles.
£250 ONO
By way of an explanation, I bought these on Friday from another member, with a view to getting some 13x8" for the rears. However i have just sourced a complete set of spare wheels (2x6" & 2x8") from someone else, so these are now surplus to requirements.
They are located north Herts/Beds area.

water / oil temp gauge switch mod - advice needed

Thanks gents. I have an apollo tank so will have a look and see if there is a temp sender. I bought the car with the tank, so not got the toggle switch, but from the instructions above that doesn't look too challenging.
