  1. I am contemplating selling my car, but before taking any steps it would be useful to know what I could realistically expect to achieve for it. It is a V reg 1999 1.8 VVC Roadsport in Monte Carlo blue 35600 miles. 5 speed gearbox 14 inch wheels with quite new Avon ZV3 tyres Leather seats Carbon dash FSH last MOT'd and serviced in September Any thoughts gratefully received Thanks JB
  2. Yes I did think you were a copper. Here's a belated
  3. Many thanks for your input. That seems conclusive. JB
  4. I traced the lack of brakelights to the switch. I cleaned it out and it does now work, but It would benefit from a new one. The fault in the reversing light is also down to a malfunctioning switch. That looks like quite a hassle to get at. I guess it's not a legal requirement to have one is it? If not I don't think I'll bother. Cheers JB
  5. Many thanks for your replies. Will check your ideas. Cheers JB
  6. A routine check showed that both my brakelights have just stopped working. Everything else works except the reversing light. Seeing that they ran off the same fuse I changed the fuse and bulbs but to no avail. What should I try next please?
  7. Hard to describe ,but a sort of twittering noise at 1800 revs when the engine has warmed up .Have just had the car seviced by approved Caterham service place but they had not come across the problem before nor did they have the tools to investigate the complicated bits where the noise may be coming from .No other symptoms and the car runs fine . I guess I will have to take it to Dartford to have it checked out , but I wondered whether anyone might have any useful comments ?
  8. I have had mine serviced by Redline and found them to be very helpful including sorting out a minor pre -service problem without notice . Their standard service prices are average .
  9. There has been discussion about this before .See last posting on 27th October.
  10. Thank you Chris that sounds like a good idea .Where is the best place to buy this foam stuff ? Cheers John
  11. Thank you for your suggestions . I have discovered that the problem is that there is too much VVC engine for the bonnet space . The previous owner's pieces of masking tape stuck to the underside of the bonnet had worn through and so causing the offending noise . To make matters worse there is now quite a lot of metal worn away to the bonnet and a small split in the paint . I have stuck on a plaster which stops the noise but what suggestions do you have for a permanent solution to the problem ?
  12. My VVC suffers from a rather annoying vibration /rattle in the 2000-2500 rev range. It seems to be coming up through the bonnet and have tried fiddling with the catches ,but to no avail .Not the worst problem in the world but apart from the obvious does any one know a goood way to solve the problem ?
